Yeah I agree with all that ECKS said seems a good thing, service would be the only thing that would worry me, JRD is mates with the owner of the Picton shop so that helps (thats right isnt it Jason, I read that at DBW I think) Ollie sourced all his stuff from Melbourne which would worry me, that aside shouldn’t need much as JRD’s bike seems sorted and like I said a good thing and definitely not just a WR, CRF or Kato like everyone else (not that there is anything wrong with any of the previously mentioned brands Moto)
Yesterday I rang up for a tail light lens for a 1990 NX650, and Honda had 7 in stock in Melbourne! Shocked me I was fully expecting a back order from Japan or even unavailable I would have thought.

Glad Fathead hooked you up in the right direction, did you ask for fathead?
Sounds like both those covers have been made by retreaded Lexen
I am going to put mine on the NX but there will be no real bikes in front of it to smash it. Oh maybe Champos big 650 Honda lol

Interesting 4skin, mine snapped on the weeknd as well, will be interesting to hear Moto regarding your problem on a KTM as he gave me flak regarding Honda foot peg bolts  .
Now to your problem, is the mating surface where the foot peg bolts on flat, if its not file it flat, if its not flat the peg rocks on the uneven surface stretching the bolts and snapping them again and again

Quote:Well Bruce, what you say may well be true, but if so can you blame them? After all it’s business right, and the aim of business is to be profitable (seeling bikes) and achieve success (winning races).Assuming they do pay the top riders more to come ride for them (I’m pretty sure they do too), isn’t that a good business strategy? How big are KTM compared to Honda or Yamaha as a company? Miniscule. If Yamaha/Honda/whoever aren’t paying the top riders to stay with them, who’s fault is that? If that then leads to reduced bikes sales then who’s fault is that?
I’m not saying this beacuse it’s KTM and I ride one, I would say it if it was any other company who have done what they have. At the very least you have to say they understand the market which has helped them sell bikes. Because they now have this profile, I’m sure they get plenty of people buying their bikes without ever even sitting on one or even contemplating another brand.
That’s Yamaha/Honda/Suzuki/Kawasaki/and whoever else’s fault though

I am shocked at you steven:huh: , take into account that the 4 big Jap companies Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki have had success throughout the whole of the motorcycle world, not just one form of the sport, also take into account they the Jap manufacturers have always been the first with major technology updates, the new husaberg engine is the first exception to mind.
Yes KTM have spent well with riders and racing, what wins on Sunday sells on Monday is the oldest saying around motor sport in all forms that I know and good businessWatch in the years to come, how will Honda in America go at Baja when Campbell retires, how will KTM go know that the knighter and his co riders left for BMW, how will Susuki go with Chad Reed, Yamaha with Bubba, Huski with Hollis, Grabham with KTM, any of the above could win on any brand.
You also fail to notice that KTM are giants in their chosen racing / manufacturing world be that enduro they are the biggest with the biggest budget in Europe, that’s their core business and are only Minuscule (to quote you) in the manufacturing world because they don’t make so many models, cars, loader, dump trucks, stationary engines, lawn mowers, out boards, jet skis etc etc etc
And you have said the above with passion becuase you do ride a KTM, don’t kid yourself :silly:
I don’t believe any one brand is better, they have different features and different things that we all like or hate, these cant be measured or acturately compared, that’s the only true fact
I am not writing this for a war and I know you will have the last word, but we cant compare apples with (in this case) oranges, it will serve justice to no one brand
