The actual story was that I had removed the air filter more than a week ago to clean it. In the meantime the sticker kit was put on and I put the filter cover back on to see how it looked. Anyway, several days later I’m down onn the Central Coast and my mate decides he wants to go for a ride on Sunday, so we both fly back to the bay to get my bike (in a rush) as I need to be back on the coast by 6pm for a dinner.

When I get home I rushed around getting all my riding gear and tariler sorted and thought I’d try and start the bike, seeing as it had been started for about 15 seconds in the last 2 months. To it’s credit it started and actually ran for a few seconds before cutting out.

I wondered what had happened and tried again. It didn’t start and it was chuffing out smoke when being turned over. Forgetting I had left the rag in the airfilter inlet several days previosuly it took me about 5 minutes to figure out’s what was wrong! I would never normally never have a rag in there. The old one always stays on until the new one goes on.

Mechanics 101 – Don’t start your bike with a rag in the airfilter ;)

Hey mate thats not completely true, you told me and Shane who is sitting here in the class this morning, that you did the spark plug thing and cranked the battery flat, seemed like a lot more drama on the phone on sat then you are taling up there mister Joe cool !!

So if the Wauchope boys get together like last time and travel over, the QLD guys could do the same, us Sydney guys can get together and help one another out as normal.

Besides if we get numbers together earlier I can get more giveaways and prizes together

Bumped for Moto, dates are in and it is booked, we need 30 to have the accommodation to oursleves, we can have more than 30 it sleeps 40 + but we need 30 to have it just OBT so come on guys, date are listed here in the thread somewhere and in the Event / dates thread as well

Deposits for the Christmas party are now being taken. As per the above posts the required deposit to secure your place in the Shearer’s quarters is a meagre $25. The deadline for paying your deposit will be Friday April 17th.

Deposits can be paid by bank transfer to the account below:

    Westpac Banking Corporation
    BSB: 032-570
    A/C: 224651
    Account Name: Savings
My name (if required): Steve Wyeth

    IMPORTANT

Please can you enter your OBT name in the ‘description’ box when making the payment. This will act as my primary method for keeping track of who has paid. Also, when you have made a payment please can you PM me or post up in the Christmas party thread. I will use both bits of information to ensure everyone has paid. I will also post up who has paid next to their name. Early payers will get a Gold star :P

I know it’s a while away but please can you pay your deposits as soon as practical so that my job is made a bit easier and I don’t have to chase all 30 odd people 2 days before the deadline. It also allows me to spend my time on organising other things to make the party better.

Payments don’t HAVE to be made by bank transfer, if you wish to do it another way then send me a PM and we will work something out. Please note that bank transfer is most definately a preference.

Thank you all in advance for your co-operation.
