Man I enjoyed that ride, it was certainly worth the effort.
    Thanks to everyone involved

Thanks Mick, you and everybody else on the ride and the helped are so welcome, as you would know Mick the logistics involved in organising a ride like this and the ride in Wauchope in March. Its not just leading people through the bush, it is making sure the route is ok, everyones riding skills are taking into consideration, food and petrol is available and there is enough available. Everyone is welcome

Thats right Bull, you are so right, in this case the wear is so fast, also given that the intake flows towards that valve more so than the other (poor design) that is the valve that goes on all DR’s that are dusted they say.

Looking forward to having those rums and an adult conversation with you regarding cooling systems, then after that we can include Dave lol :P

You were asking Bull how come thousands of engines dont have this problem and I was saying that throttle useage of all different types of riders is why some engines give dramas and some dont

Oh that makes sense now, hey how come the hire companies use DR’s all sorts of people flog the shit out of them, they dont have valve issues, I was asking Bull does Chops have a different coolant casting, because he said

“The problem I believe is that the coolant exits from the r/h front of the cylinder head and there is a large exhaust port blocking the coolant path around the l/h side of the head and this causes a hot spot around l/h exhaust valve which causes core shift and moves the inlet boss off centre and causes the valve to scrape on the valve seat and wear itself out faster
    this is just my theory”

Now Scotty and Boulder would ride their DR’s harder that Chopper and theirs hasnt done it? Strange or is it that Chops just got dusted earlier in its life and we are seeing that now?

I am not going into this anymore, just try real hard Dave to think logically about it, if like Bull said above all DR’s would do it, and they dont, but will if they are dusted at some stage. Thats not to say the cooling system couldnt be improved.

Ha ha funny rocket, wasn’t 15mins was it? The side cold air intake on my bike has been the most unbelievable change to my filters I have ever seen, before that half day would see it struggle to rev in some long dusty races (not hard ones ask Dave) but dusty ones.
