Look it didnt bother me that much, it is trucking s*#t happens, I have been doing this for a while now, I was a little disapointed on sunday morning watching everybody ride of, but I had taken chicken up front with me all saturday for a reason and that was for him to get used to leading and show him some turn offs and things for him to know becuase I wasn’t sure which way we would be going home and I had to cover all bases. But I had a ball in the support ute, we had a scream and because I knew the tracks we could then check out some extra spots to watch the guys pass.

I have raced and trail ridden the BRP for over 3.5 years now and checked last night it has had 17 oil changes since I moved to the Blue Mountains by the notches on the cupboard door and I rode it for almost 2 years before I moved here to the mountains. Each oil change is a minimum of 500kms although on some of the bigger rides where chicken and I have done 1000+ kms a weekend, no I cant fault it at all and only hope everyone can get those sort of miles from their bikes :)

Ah the time management issues from the guy that we sat around and waited for saturday morning at my place  , the guy that had to go back home after he got to my place  and still forgot his cambelback  and the only one that had an issue with the rest times for the distance we had to travel on a long hot day :P
Could it be I wasn’t being anal, just your disorganised? :P

I am very happy with how everything went, and am working on a ride the same but different for later in the year

We fueled at Capertee and headed for Yetholme via Sunny Corner. We had a trouble free run until Mick fell in the a hole, well it started as a hole but I think by beer number 12, one of Moose’s fire waters and god knows how many bourbons at Hillend we established it may have been an open cut mine! Or the Grand Canyon or that size!
OK Mick went of the track and fell in a hole, why was he of the track?? He had a pretty bad fall by all accounts and was lucky he had a neck brace on, the EVS he has, lucky you had that on eh Mick? He gave the front of the XR some lovin during that crash but was going well otherwise. Holeshot had a flat firstly and was helped by Boulder and then White rocket also suffered a flat, its fairly rocky in spots. We played in the pines for a little bit but as we had lost sometime with the flats and the heat was getting up there I made it a very quick turn around to head to Sofala, sorry Mal 5.1 but we didn’t stay at Yetholme very long at all.

We headed over across onto Mt Horrible and down to Palmers Oaky; we turned and followed the Turon River all the way to Sofala

People with way to much time on their hands live at Palmers Oaky

    P1310088Small.jpg

We motored into Sofala, we sat and had a rum or beer or whatever it was and I thought what a good group, we had pushed through from Yetholme at a amazing pace for such a large group, there had been about 6 or 7 gates and the whole group had ridden within themselves and dealt with some pretty thick dust with little or no breeze.

We left Sofala and travelled a couple of kays up the Hillend road, we parked down under the bridge and went for a swim, it was a swim that most of us only removed our helmets and camelbacks only, yep riding gear, boots etc It was great, yeah Mick it smelt but it was so good riding afterwards.

    P1310093Small.jpg

Some else has some pictures of us swimming in our gear

We left and took of for Hillend, it was during this section I felt the BRP was different, it was like a slight rumble in top gear, and I couldn’t be sure and went back to racing Tiny and Mick to the Pub (and won)

We pulled up at the pub,

That’s it for tonight, thanks again to all that helped and everyone that was there and that made it the fantastic weekend that it was

Mick and Moose fronted at around 3pm, and Chicken arrived soon after, Chicken said his bike was ready, how good is that I thought, them he says we just need to regrease the rear mousse, take a link out of the chain and change the front tyre (lucky it was ready eh?)

Then the crowd rolled in, soon we had a good crowd there was Tiny and Tiny’s biatch, Moose, Mick, Chicken, Moto, Champo, Racey Tracy, Eagle and Chris.

Again Moto’s choice of products purchased came under scrutiny

Tracy got the pizzas on the go,

Salina came home and we started loading the bikes, soon everything was loaded, showers had and we sat to watch Dust to Glory. The DVD buggered up and all went pear shaped, so it was of to bed. The snoring that night was incredible, Mick and Chicken are just wrong, Chickens’ snoring was crystal clear up stairs, and Mick was just as bad.

Next morning I had the house up at 5am, we hooked the trailers up and waited for Chop to turn up, as soon as we had him hooked up he said he to go back home to get a trailer plug. We picked up Chris and headed on our way, we soon had a highway patrol car following Moto and low and behold Moto gets pulled up, what for you ask? For no using his indictors enough, Jesus! If the cops are behind you for a while wouldn’t that be the time to use your blinkers? Anyways Moto said his boy band good looks got him off

We arrived at the Zig Zag car park and it looked like no one was there, we soon spotted Holeshot who was already getting ready, some quick intros and the others started arriving, Tracy jumped into action again and collected money for the jerry cans and we loaded the support vehicle. Once everyone was ready we got under way

The XR was found to have excessive end float at the counter shaft for the drive sprocket and was a DNS day 2

Tiny High-sided the Husky at the front of the pub, thus smashing Moto’s record of crashing 200 metres from the end of the ride, record now stands at 3 metres from the end.

Just went to Chops and picked up the DR, tested the helmet cam out on the way back, got some great road footage, two wheelies, one really good! I cant put on for 2 reasons, 1 the footage is to long and has to be edited, 2nd twice I had it banging the limiter once during the wheelie and the 2nd when I held a gear between corners and have you seen Chop?
