Ok I have spoken with the Pub at Hillend and found that if we rock up with 20 people we book the Pub out completely accommodation wise.
The cost of the Saturday night if we book the pub is $680 bucks, which if my maths is right is $34 buck per person. $680/20 = $34

I am just waiting for one more thing to fall into place for the date to be confirmed.

Well as some of you may know (moto has been dropping comments) I cracked the engine on 650 two weeks ago whilst changing the oil by over tightening the sump plug.

GREG BALL MOTOR CYCLE ENGINEERING at Kirrawee did the repair for me after I contacted Scott from Battyes in a mild panic. I pulled the engine out and took it to Greg, Greg quickly put all my fears to rest and told me how they would fix it and that there would be no long therm problems.

I left it on the Monday morning and had it back Wednesday arvo for $60, and what a great job. Crash picked it up for me and he rang me to tell me what a great job Greg had done.

Having the engine wasnt all bad I had sometime to fix some bits and pieces and lockwire some bolts etc, my bike has most of its bolt heads and nuts drilled to be lock wired from when it was built for the Safari.

I cleaned all the areas that you normally dont get to and checked the valves, that again didnt need adjustment (not thats its a dramam with screw and nut adjusters)

The 650 has the same or more power but its a different feel, they rev slower, even mine with HRC cams and lightened flywheel is still a lot slower to rev, but the power so much more usable.

When set up correct they handle great, as I have put in this thread before Gilli rode mine and was impressed, rider X talked about how good my bikes suspension is, it is a heavier bike than your 426 for sure but I like a heavy bike, it has benefits as well as negatives for sure.

The R model is the model you want hasn’t got an electric start, if you know how to start them and use the decomp lever and do it the right way they are no problem to start. They also don’t stall as easily as your 426 because of the heavier flywheel effect and rotating mass. There are after market electric leg kits you can get, english company makes them I have seen one in the flesh and they look good but I have no problem starting mine etc so I dont bother.

I will have a date on Monday sometime, I also have to make sure we can get accommodation for everyone

This ride will be capped at 20 riders

Remember also if you come on this ride you do so at your own risk, this is not a paid ride, its just me and me mate going for a ride, if you wish to tag along you do so at your own risk, if you are not happy with where we are going or what we are doing you have the choice to leave the ride at anytime. If you have a fancy talking lawyer mate stay home!
