Quote:Can I suggest that we have a sub forum for ‘off topic talk’ or ‘non-bike related’ talk or even ‘chit chat’? It would save posting some threads in the wrong place and give us a place to ‘chat’ if need be.Threads like my moving house one would be a good example. Hardly bike related, but that’s where I posted it.
Just a suggestion
Will set it up in the next 24hrs mate, good idea

Check it out in the links section Gilli, we spoke with Tom out there the owner about having weekend out there and booking the shearers shed accommodation out for our group, it sleeps 40 I think, big BBQ kitchen eating area. KTMRAT is a ride coach and we can book a track for our group only and those that want to can do a clinic with KTMRAT or just go trail riding on the loops, rocky the trails are rocky but great fun. Would be great to have a group on the motocross track all togther so I havent got to ride slow and wait for Chris lol

Quote:Heres the “official” derestriction guide for the KLX, thanks to FatHead.Chris.
Where?
Chris quickly check the bottom of the old bull forum page where it says whos online, why is Crash listed as a hidden user, I see Squirrels does the same when he is online is that strange its both of them that do that?
8.51pm
Hot news from today is that the squirrel’s identity has been discovered by one of us, this person wouldn’t tell me who its is and I am hoping he will put it out on the site now that I have posted this, if not I will name him as he knows (well claims to) and I am sure there are people who would also like to know who he is. The person who has worked it out is a very clever person and I think he would be able to work it out so come on tell us all. Please

Quote:I think that provided you maintain comms through the use of the cornerman system, there is no real benefit from using the UHF whilst riding to stay in touch with the bunch. I think they are useful if one got lost, but in that situation, you would probably be stationary and could just use the handheld method. UHF is technically line of sight comms. The range of small handheld units is not that great anyway. Having said that, I carry a small handheld for emergency purposes.Just enjoy the ride without listening to chit chat in your ear.
Nigel
Sorry I am not meaning to hack on you tonight but again WTF
The cornerman system with 25 riders, when someone breaks down or crashes think about the time it will take to spread 20 odd riders over the forest before you know something is wrong! If its such a bad idea how come the tour companies I have ridden with use them!
8 watts UHF is far better than line of sight, 2.5 watt little ones are but not 8 watt.

Sounds like you need to buy yourself a cheap JD jet kit
Before you go to 14/50, give 14/52 a try and see what you think. If you want I can send you a spreadsheet that calculates the changes to speed in gears, when you change parameters such as sprocket size and tyre size. If you are interested PM me your email address and I can send it.
Owners of other shitbox brand bikes need not reply to this post .

Nigel WTF is the matter with you?
Firstly let’s deal with the cans of worms you have opened one at a time
1/ Rossi would have ridden a wheel barrow if he was paid the money that Yamaha paid him because my friend they knew he could make their bike (which was on par with a wheel barrow) competitive
2/ Gearing is relative the riding style there is no way what works for you works for anybody else, I like my bike geared fast I find it makes me ride better, I have to tackle hills harder because I cant stop and lift of again, and I use the clutch like it’s a 125 one dinger. I tried to get chicken onto the gearing I used to use in the Watagans with my old 600, yet he likes it about 4 – 6 teeth more on the back sprocket.
3/ Gearing spread sheet, gas flames, beakers, microscopes, algorithms, DNA, witch doctors, bats tails etc Just ride it, spend the 20 bucks go up one tooth on the front, go down one on the front, try it that will get it close. Rough rule of thumb 1 tooth on the front is same as 4 on the back ( I know Nigel its closer to 3.8767383937 by hey lets stick to 4 its easy ). Bigger on the front and smaller on the back fast bike, smaller on the front and bigger on the back slower big
4/ I think playing around with gearing is the fun of owning a bike, I have 3 differenet sets I use ( yes complete with chains ) for different rides, relax and play with it.
