On our ride on saturday we checked out the single line for the nite loop on the friday nite, its a good thing I reckon maybe some of the boys from saturday could pass comment.
Also we saw the camping ground we will use, it is just past the pines camping ground.
Mick your truck should make it there no trouble going through from CorranbongTB

You sure, we could ask as a group the squirrel to check it out, bastard seems to know everything else lol
Chicken I want to do that Orange ride again soon, thats an extreme ride for two days, 500 odd kms a day how about it
Fronts for me, pinched tubes (high country ride 2006 had 3 in one day)even ultra heavy duty tubes can be pinched when you drop pressures searching for traction. Also damaged rims, dented front rims when using tubes and low pressure was a problem I solved when I switched to mousses.
Think I have only had two rear flats that I can remember in my adult life, once because of hitting a hole and broke two spokes, I stopped and saw the broken spokes, turned for home and soon had a flat from the spokes not be cable tied and piecing the tube. The other was from to low a pressure at Louee because of the rocks and 14psiTB
Come on Ollie, Crash, Cam, DrD some body want to step up to the plate on the ride report before me.

Quote:My XR is geared for 100km flat out. 15/48. She is still a hand full in tight hilly stuff though.Hey Mick somethings wrong there champ. no offence but you know there a 5 speed gearbox yeah? I used to run 14/48 on my 600 when i had it for the Watagans and it would do 120 choking it, my point is the 14 on the front is slower than a 15
Bigger on the front and smaller on the back is fast
Smaller on the front and bigger on the back is slow
What I dont understand is you have 15/48, which should be faster then 14/48 but you say is 20kph slower
Ok just to confirm my thoughts I rang chicken and he still runs 14/48 as is slow gearing and thought would do 120 wringing its neck
There has been no changes to XR600 primary drive ratio ever, so back to my first question, do you know there a 5 speed?
TB
PS maybe chicken and I are just rev it harder
The baskets are alloy mick, wouldnt take long but you would think that it is ok. Chickens has done 4 times that + more and we didnt file them but should have looking back. From all the years I have owned and ridden 600’s I have had it happen a couple of times of the years, I have heard the oil bubbling in the crankcase on my old XR250 and the clutch went east, got going on some more open stuff and stayed of the clutch and it came good, just change the oil and remember its a trail bike not a Trails bike think about where it happened, your report says it all!
Yeah was brain fade all morning till I got on the bike, listen the minister has be going to Sydney today for lunch ride report will have to be tonights project.
Found some new single trail, good stuff that doesnt boil your bike and clutch but is hard enough to get your heart going
Practiced single line tight single line for friday nite ride at christmas party
Stay tuned for report
