Yeah I am with Bollocks fast slow single open sand rocky a damper is the second thing I do to every bike I have raced ridden or trail hacked. Most people that haven’t used one for an extended period will tell you they aren’t needed ( I used to say that before I fitted one) rarely see people that get one don’t keep using them. I reckon the bike that benefited the most was the KTM 530 that I ride sometimes  It used to shake its head. Just my humble opinion
Oh yeah they look bling as well  kills two birds for you!

Starting to come together
Was going to paint the racks again but the bags rub the paint of so
Pivots on
Then I took it for a spin, got 11kms on it now. Lucky its not a KTM be due for a rebuild

One auto electric guy told me he was owed $20k form clients, Very sad. The young bloke didn’t want me to put his tyre on as I might stuff it, went back to rock motorcycles and they said if you purchased it here its free. I don’t mind paying for that one off as I know I might need them in the future.Yeah well said Dickie
Two sides to every quote I didnt think either was to dear who knows they maybe changing the oil and filter rather than chucking it on its side. Fact is its one you can do yourself so do it.
(Thats not to say there arent shops out there that will rip you

I reckon when Mick gets back from the scrapheap he would do it for you for a six pack mate it only talks 30 mins and he could give you some pointers. Only thing I would do is use a tension wrench when tightening the clutch spring retaining bolts.

Mean machine!!!Curious why you would not just have Nick rework the stock suspension instead of transferring over from the old? Wouldn’t there be a concern the performance may be different?
Cheers…
My rear shock isn’t a Yamaha shock for starters and I like my forks I am sure Nick would do the same but I can sell this one later or my black one with new stuff for someone to mod or use as new

Great to have Allan on board. I asked what he was riding?
‘The bike is not to exotic but has a bit of history it’s an 2000 XR650 with the side covers off the last bike I rode in the Baja 1000 and the head light is off the bike I rode in the 1991 Australian Safari ‘
Hope he can handle the pace Pezz

Leave there after the ashes spreading that evening late and make a mile to get to Camerons the evening after to meet friends for a little ride I promised them.
Should cross paths somewhere Al, look forward to having a beer or three with you.TB
What they said
can only add that if you live close enough to Sydney it is worth going to Adventure moto and trying different sizes and models on. If you can’t the ring and chat to Steve or Janice and tell them your a old bull

Chris came down to my house to tell me, I wasnt even a member from memory. Chris joined me up and typed my answer for me (he used to get frustrated at my typing speed those days  ) and Ron disappeared
His post here
Cant find his actual first post

Hey D rally I keep my bikes for a while and do many more miles and hours on them then anyone else I can think of I think I know what oil works and doesn’t. My last 3 major bikes have done over 130,000kms between them. No rebuilds no cams no failures until the Tenere shift bearing which isnt lube related. I haven’t even replaced a clutch! The XRs were raced and ridden hard as well. Have a look at the condition of the piston etc that came out of the Tenere and it was unmarked a single cylinder ridden for 50k and nearly 900hrs!
Diesel oils and gas oils maybe good but I would like to see them tested long term. I pay full retail for my Motul and am happy to as I know it does the yards for me.
The kids don’t ride their two strokes hard at all and could run outboard two stroke oil but pay cause I know it’s good.TB
