I put E10 in my 300 a few times. Mainly when I was out bush somewhere, on one occassion it was the only one available. It’s alright to use from an engine perspective, though everyone with their wives tales and lack of any real knowledge will tell you otherwise.

The bigger issue with the E10 is water ingress in the fuel, this is much less prevalent in normal fuels and is the main reason why I chuck 95 in there normally, standard unleaded is fine also if you can still find it.

Running higher than 95 octane in your bike may actually make it perform slightly worse. There certainly won’t be any benefit. It’ll cost you extra money for nothing.

Steer clear of fuel from Shell, it has additives that are designed for injected engines and has been known to cause monor fowling and carbon buildup issues when used in a dirtbike. BP and Caltex are the best bets.

    Day 12

So it was a later start obviously after the previous evenings playing up (like a cheap second hand Chinese pit bike comes to mind) We had changed out of our even dresses earlier in the night, actually when the free drinks were cut off. They were painful to wear leaving me wondering how Boony does it all the time
We had decided we would rest the big bikes today and hire ourselves some scooters, I was particularly looking forward to the experience as it would give me an understanding of what the two stroke riders here on the site experience.
Once our coffees and Red Bulls were sourced we waited for the scooter man to open up so we could go to breakfast on the other side of the island.

Once he turned up we hired scooters, Kram had another goldfish moment (happened all trip hence the new user name for him) the guy asks for his credit card for the security deposit, GF hands it over as he says there is no money in there! The guy looks at him and says “well that’s no good for security is it, maybe you shouldn’t tell me that” So the security deposit goes on Moose’s card
We headed off to the other side of the island on our trusty steeds, mine was one of the big scooters and I had been warned it was slower on the flat. The upside was it handled better had better brakes and steered heap better this saw me last on all the straights but first wherever we went because of desperate braking moves and as GF said a healthy disrespect for traffic laws and round abouts

Chatting to Nick on the Bluetooth while scootering in the rain

We had some breakfast at a little café and went to check the island out

We then rode around checking the island out riding board walks, sand footpaths you know general behavior

Two stroke drag racing, Nick gets the jump, Kram catches him, I want to take the scooters to the skate park and Moose catches up and passes me

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0mA4ncIbxE

GF went back for a nanny nap while we just hung out at the resort. I did some washing and uploaded photos and ride report. Nick read a book and Moose went to buy some trinkets for his daughter. He rang later and said he had a front flat on the scooter and could I find the scooter guy. I searched but he had gone AWOL so Moose was walking the scooter back when he came across a guy who told him the scooter gut lived two doors back from where he was. Moose found ol mate who filled the front tyre with Finnie leak (that was the last of Moose riding the scooter hard!)
    All the bikes

Nick, Moose and I went for lunch on the bikes while GF had a nanny nap. We left the lunch and Nick parked on the sand where to Moose’s amusement I roosted Nick with my scooter which turned out to be too much for Nick’s scooter which broke there on after!
I had to double him back on the bigger two seater I had, he wasn’t too bad but did burr up when I took I flat out detour around a track off road without warning (I behaved myself after that :P )

We returned to the resort after tracking down Scooter dude and telling him of the death of Nick’s scooter. We found the nanny napper and settled in for a few quiet ales

That night turned into one of the biggest nights of the trip, they had a trivia night on which we won, yeah go OBT. We had 3 Irish girls joined our team and we kicked arse. Kram was in awesome form as he spilled enough beer to raise the tidal level and convinced us Dodo birds could fly? Yeah we put his answer down

    c2030e0a.jpg

    e076105d.jpg

Anyway we were locked in a tie for first which saw Nick and Moose on stage, we weren’t :pinch: sure what was going to happen but the look on Moose’s face when it was announced they were playing Rock, Scissors, paper, strip was priceless. The idea was Moose and Nick verse the two young punks. They had to decide what they were going to go, either rock, scissors or paper and then play the round. Losers then had to remove an item of clothing. Our boys won the first round, other team removed their shirts, and our boys won the second round. Now it got interesting, it seems one member of the young punk’s team was free balling and wouldn’t remove his jeans. We won on default! OBT the trivia champions, we won a $50 bar tab, car hire and visit to a nature park. We gave the car hire and nature park to the Irish girls and drank the tab. It must be said we did alright considering we had been in the jagermisters and snake bites as well as beers and Bundy in between.
I bailed about 1am to set an alarm, check the ferry schedule and pack my bags. Moose came in about 2am saying he had back doored it and then proceeded to lie in his bed and giggle randomly every other minute. Nick fell in about 2.30 – 3.00am well and truly plastered and crashed the Goldfish was report unseen and missing.

    last day soon
