So the WRs have done nearly 2500kms, hard klms. These things have had the wheels ridden off them  So they are due for a service, new tyres and and the search for suspension perfection. Is there such a thing  , these bikes are the best I have ever riden suspension wise. Nick @ Tekniks wants to try something different so ok out comes the shocks and the forks on mine. We are trying different fork settings on both the bikes and Steve refused to change his  Nothing has troubled these bikes, besides a couple of bolts falling out of a radiator guard they havent missed a beat. The number 2 bike has been ridden by Steve (after all it is his  ), Bulls Wool (2 days in the Vic high Country), D Rally (a 450km day prerunning), Josh Evans (A journalist for ADB mag rode if for 3 days in the High Country on the rideadv ride down there) and Steve rode it for a day in the Watagans. Mine has had myself for the most, Moose spent almost two days on it in the High Country when his DR broke down. Fuchsy rode it for a short time in between flat tyres
. So they have exceeded my expectations I must say. I have 3500kms of prerunning in July between Sydney and Brisbane all off road that I will use my WR for that I am looking forward to :woohoo:
Stripped at the GFMS workshop (I call it the Rideadv workshop  )
Suspension components out
Wheels ready for new shoes
Nick searching for tricky bits
I actually put Steve’s shock together (under Nick’s supervision  )
Thanks Lefty for the use of the shed mate

First hit out on the weekend
Thanks to Barretts, new pipes for this one. I have to say this bike feels it has more midrange than the previous Tens with the Leo Vince system
Thanks as always to Tekniks and Nick for his on going help and support everytime I am in a jam
I fitted new black barkbuster plastics after it was suggested that they would look better than the old white ones
Thanks to Lefty for use of the workshop
Randoms
Thanks to Adventure Moto, Steve you are a legend mate

Good stuff Dan, I have done some riding in there with the King and only scratched the surface. I would join you of I was closer mate for sure. Thanks for
Putting the time in with the vidsTB
Congrats on the new Ten Choot! What colour did you get?
As for the hub mods, I am convinced the twin row bearing is the go. The twin row bearing leaves more meat in the hub. That said the two bearing one wont crack the hub if you don’t flog it in or are careful pressing it (not like Nick’s former employee did on mine)
Choice is yours mat, but it’s now the twin for me

Nato wrote:Ok so i have been seeing a few people talk about spoke torque wrenches around the place and was wondering if people like them or just stick to the old tap around and listen to the thud of a loose spoke an tighten accordingly?I build a lot of wheels and I just do them by hand and feel, be careful you dont do them to tight. To tight will cause a lot of broken spokes and hubs
Also i have the odd seized spoke from not spraying them after washes (only 3) Can i just soak them and use a pair of vice grips and a spoke spanner to loosen them or are they gonna have to come off?
Yeah, but before you do keep soaking then for a few weeks with some sort of WD40. When you clamp them with the vice grips, make sure you dont let the spoke slip in the vice grips or it marks the spokes. Also a quick jerk is better than a slow pull
Nato.
