    Thanks for everyones comments –

And the winner is ……… Shoei Hornet :)

I too had an RJ’s Dakar ….. had it for 3 months …. took it back to the place of purchase and contacted RJ’s who were only to happy for me to return it. In this case, in my experience, you get what you pay for. Thankyou RJ”s for listening to an unhappy customer.

    Cheers Brenda

Congratulations on your purchase Brenda I have a Shoei hornet and having owned or worn 4 different adventure helmets in the last 3 years can say that the Shoei is the ducks guts

I have to say that the service shown by Rjays or the distributor was pretty good, credit where credit is due

    Enjoy

Recently on a ride we stopped at Dargo, home of the famous and very cluey Dargo Dan. He said one of the biggest mistakes he sees guys that come riding up there is guys run hard compound tyres because it’s hard and rocky there. He went on to explain how a softer tyre compound will flex and wont tear knobs out or chunk as much. To be honest it made me rethink what I do and ride on I have since got nearly 1200kms out of a Geomax and it’s not even half worn and I reckon I am riding as fast as I ever have. Just putting it out there as food for thought

You will be happy with your choice, Moto. :woohoo:

It was your love affinity for them that made me try it Murph. Now there will be 2 x 500cc+ big bores with IRC’s on the back. Lookout! Maybe we should get one for Medogrocket too 😆

I would have gone the 140 if it wasn’t too big for the mousse. To be honest though, the 130 doesn’t look all that wide, it just has usual 12″ knobbies you get with an IRC :D

I will watch with interest as I like the IRCs but stopped running them because i keep snapping knobs of them because they are too hard and the knobs don’t flex (well that’s what the Rep told me as well as I I must spin the tyre up too much  ) one of mine even made a trailrider mag destroyed with 238 kms on it  That said they are a well constructed case and very punture resistant

Bones is on the money IMO. I looked into this when we built DeJays bike and standard seemed the go. The 14 in the bum bag was suggested and never done but I will talk with Dejay now Bones had reminded me. I recently tried a 14 on the front of the Tenere and the difference in the high country was huge but it sucked bats elsewhere so like Bones it’s in the bum bag.

Order a Chain Gang set and run a 520 chain instead of the 525 that comes standard on a DR just because it’s easier spares wise etc. I am staying about 6 blocks from Chain Gang but leaving this morning, I could have picked them up for you :pinch: Chain Gang sprockets last forever

Sorry mate I really don’t want to say no but we have decided it’s full / actually over full given what we are wanting to do and where it’s at 90 is more than enough. Any that drop out we aren’t replacing as I explained via PM to someone that wanted to go last night.

I applogise but it is full
