XR650L has a button, can’t buy new here in Aus but elsewhere in to world. The KTM singles does vibrate, I would have bought a 640 adventure had I been able to get a low mileage 07 (last model) but I couldn’t. Price of parts and accessories also was a deciding factor it not continuing to look for a 640. The Tenere 2010 model I have does everything I want, I also have a XR650R but it’s not anywhere near an adventure bike.

I have watched and read through this thread and what you want isn’t possible I reckon and I get the feeling from reading and rereading you know that deep down  I think a DR650 is the closet also you can get a new one cheap. That said maybe a KTM 300 for your trail riding (you seem keen on them  ) and a Tenere, DR650, BMW 650, 990 or the likes for everything else

Enjoy the chase and keep us posted on what you do and how you go

Sensible answer short Bollocks, your Honda has radiators the same size as your WR did. Your WR is probably half worn out no where near as much compression as the 450 thus creates more heat and faster. You need to keep moving, turn it off straight away when stopped. Check your radiator cap, good quality coolant and make sure the cores are clean.

I see more KTMs boil than any other bike (it’s true not a lunge at them) we had trouble with the KTM530 I have been riding when Steve first got it. It boiled the first time in the singles when Steve rode it and I was on the XR. It had a fan and was still boiling, I changed the coolant, replaced the near new cap because it wasn’t holdin pressure. It have been riding it since, it’s never boiled. Turn it off as soon as you stop avoid long idle periods and ignore Eagle

post up in tech help next times ;)

Sounds like an excuse, your shed must be like you, your KTM and your riding all talk  post it up Boony ;)

Why not cap it at 100 ?? there’s plenty of forest

How will the ride for each rider be if there is 50 on a loop Bob? I am already having to organise an extra loop to be lead to reduce numbers on each loop so the rides move better for everyone. What about the work involved with sponsors, prizes, food, water, wood etc 85 or 80 will be fine this year

Would you like to lead an extra loop? I know it pretty well around there but am happy for someone else to lead and I will sweep if required. If I lead a loop it will be ungraded because I cant be sure we wont end up doing 4 or 5
