Its a shame they cut the corner with the engine. Using the yz engine would have made for a bike that might match the hype in all the magazines. Too hard to fit the electric start to it apparently though.
I miss the days of Sidetracks truthful bike reviews.

Umm dont be put off by the linear power delivery Jimmy when drag raced against the KTM530 it was impressive but more on that later when the suspension is done. The suspension BTW feels good it’s just sprung for a 75kilo rider.
Have you had a ride on one yet mate? I thought it wasn’t tha quick until the couple of drag races and roll ons. It doesn’t feel aggressive fast.

    Weights!!!!

    Hey TB,

nice no bias report there! How about you take those corner weight scales to Birthday weekend and get some real (accesories and full fuel) results!! Could make for some quieter mouths and a laugh as well!!! Iccould scout a level area and supply a sheet of form ply!!

I think I’m coming all the way out to SC but need to be closer before I commit.

    G

I dont think we access to the scales anymore G, but I hope to get it weighed this week or next. As far as the report goes, I do like Honda because they are the best  but it doesnt stop be being impressed, disapointed or surprised in other brands like the 530

I dont want this to become a weight thread but when we weighed the 530 at Wauchope it went 129 kilos, the WR feels lighter than the 530

Nick it steers better than the 530, it feels lighter than the tare weight says it is. There was a guy with us today that does a lot of riding (almost for a living) he rides a CRF250. He commented how nibble it felt after 20 mins on it.

Eagle having riden both a 690 and this mate they dont even compare, like lemons and strawberries (690 is the lemon  ) For the record a 690 has a claimed weight of 138.5 without fuel and the WR on the Yamaha site of 123.8 without fuel
