Early punters would remember the series of photos taken ay the 2007 Yellow Mountain event. Where our very own Old Bull who name shall remain nameless (thats because Crash is a mate) Seems our Old Bull whilst travelling at around 120kphs got it slightly wrong :pinch:

BTW he rode the remaining 25kms to the finish of day 1 and raced 220kms to the finish the next day, tough as nails

I would have thought it had been going much longer than almost 4 years. Was it functioning under a different name before then? I gather it was started by TB? Was there others?
Or is it shrouded in mystery like the ghost who walks never to be revealed. Has there been people suiting up to be TB from father to son for generations?
Thanks

Easiest way to put it roy is I’m the Brains and TB’s the braun :cheer:  , with great help from past and present moderators especially micknmeld the original moderator, Mal 5.1, STM, NickJ, Aido and guys like Eagle, Boony, Bollocks, Crash, Boulder, Squirrel, all who came along early in the piece and have helped promote us.

Short answer Roy is it was started by Chris72a and myself around a drunken evening. Come to the Birthday ride in May and you will no doubt hear the long version

Sorry I missed the cc part in the review but for some reason I thought it was smaller than a 1200 !
I’ll try harder next time boss
Sorry mate just saying is all  I mean as the highly paid ADV guru / moderator thought it was funny you missed it given your normal high standard of work

Next time, although as hindsight is 20 20 vision it does look big for an 800 eh

Nickj wrote:As the ride went on and fatigue set in I felt the forks seemed harsh again and at no time did I use the full stroke so I believe I could soften the compression some more ?Nick
Couple of things Nick IMO
First it could be air in the forks built up whith the heat from the forks working and compressing. try taking a small screw driver with you and letting the pressure out before the afternoon part of your ride
Secondly yes you could try softening the compression but with only standard shim sets and valving I reckon it will soften it all the way through the stroke
Thirdly next service get the valving and shims changed (they have it all apart anyway) and mention to Nick you are after a softer start to the stroke. Properly setup up shim stacks and valving will let you have the best of both works
Looks great the bike
