Did he have a good drive up from western Sydney did he?

Good on you Pete, welcome mate how about an intro and a little about yourself mate

I have always thought they had the same bike traffic when I rode them, George Downs drive would be getting busy now maybe as the halfway house is gone.
As a ride there isnt much difference, a lot of people leave Sydney and do the loop through Wollombi / Laguna and use both George down drive / old pacific hwy and the other half the putty rdTB
Yeah sorry mate
How was the tyre in the wet? As you know I am very interested to try one and may do on Micks 3 day ride on day 2

Quote:Due to the continuing wet weather,I am considering cutting out some of the bigger hills in order to save the trails from damage. This may see a few fire trail sections up to 4km long to by pass a couple of the gnarlier hills. I will make a decision on the run tomorrow once I see how wet the trails are.Should still be awesome fun!!
That big clay hill that runs from near the bridge on Bago Rd (I dont know a better way to locate it Mick  hopefully you know where I mean, the one where Trippers caliper fell off  ) that would be a hell of a challenge given the weather
Your right about tearing it up though, especially given the size of your groupTB
The details for this are on the first page (1st post), we are close to getting a date worked out so if you have a preference speak up either march or may
The list is also on the first page (2nd post)
If you dont have your name and aren’t sure you can contact me on 0419 421334TB
UUmmmmm I didnt discredit your post Devon ol mate it says very clearly “I dont doubt the work this bike has done”

The rest was just an example of what 200hrs is, and in case someone was thinking my kids KX85 has done 200hrs without say an hour meter or an idea you know what I mean Mick
I would hate for someone to be laughed at for 1.2 million reasons :laugh:And by the way this thread, well I think it is the topic now  as per OBT

Quote:My young fella’s 06 KX85 has close to 200 hrs on it………….still has the original piston and rings in it. Still starts easy and still goes like the clappers. I am happy with the green machines, at the races you never see me at the start line kicking the guts out of a Kwaka that wont go.Why the contempt for Kwaka’s Dave?Dave quote those hrs for you Mick using the same calculator he used for his 1.2 million kms    Jokes outa the way
I dont doubt the work this bike has done it has done a bloody lot its a great bike and its ridden a hell of a lot and at a fair pace now days. The piston wouldnt have been replaced probably as much because of the mayors maintance program and purse strings then for any better reason

Seriously that’s the equivalent of being ridden for 5 full working weeks 8hrs a day five days a week for 5 weeks
If he rode at an average speed of 25kms/hr he would have ridden 5000kms  That is like Sydney to Melbourne and back to Sydney and back to Melbourne and back to Sydney and back to Melbourne and back to Tarcutta
The spec’s say they have a 6 litre tank, let say it does 120kms for a tank of fuel that means it has had 250 litres of fuel through it  and at say $1.20 a litre ( for say high octane premium if the mayor runs that, more likely used cooking oil from the fish and chip shop ) that’s around $300 of fuel :ohmy:Thats a good run from it. My question Mick is how did a thread about kick starting a 650 four stroke turn out to be about your sons 65 two smoker
