No worries Jeffro, as I said am more then happy to have a look at it, cant test ride it but can do everything else mate
TB
I can look at it any time Jeffro if that helps mate as I got nothing else to do  and I am doing some running around so its not a problem
On the reliability note check out http://www.advrider.com/ there are a lot of people there with them I would reckon, they probably are a real good thing but rather then just say go and buy it I would check into any (expensive) problems they may have on higher mileage units and what to look for on a 2nd hand one mate

OK,by the looks of things it isn’t tapered and should just slide out unless there is a bit of electolosis built up around it.I will have another look at the carby this arvo as it is still on my bench.
never seen one tapered before in a 38

Alright now I have loaned Mick my original wheels (black rims silver hubs) we get get this thread back on track
I have a heap of NX 650 parts to many to list, I have stripped two rolling chassis now and with a new project starting I need the space. Plus mine never requires any parts the bullet proof old girl
Their are only two of us here that have them but others my know people with a NX / Dominator so if champo or anyone whats some parts let me know and we will work something out (most parts will be free to a good home) I have also advertised these parts elsewhere

The yokos, yes we all need a dream

TB
Wheels we can organsie, what about plain black rims with silver hubs my orginals for loan
What and you dont have a spare set of XR 600 wheels in your shed? What are you going to use as far as wheels go and for fuel range as well?
TB

Quote:Have you tried the fronts TB?I did about 60kms yesterday with Axel and Grant and we done some fairly snotty rocky sections and the rear Scorpion perform quiet well. Hooked up when needed. I did find on the hard packed sandy trails it seemed a little slipery, a bit more than the Dunlop I usually use.
But I will go another Scorpion on the back as it looks to keep it’s ‘edge’ better than the Dunlop.
No Mal I haven’t tried a front but I see Rocket has and seems to rate it Rockets thread
Mal reckons they are OK and he hasn’t steered me wrong yet
I have ran the rears on and of for over 12 months now because I have been trying different tyres and not noticed a problem with the hard pack conditions  would look forward to Crash and Rockets thoughts as I could be missing something. I was interested in the number of pro enduro racers using these
The IRC’s a little cheaper but unavailable and chunked a little on Dan’s my bikes where the Scorpion doesn’t chunk at all
Having said the above I have come back to them as the tyre of choice unless its loam city for the ride and then its S12 for the ride

TB
Yeah what for ?

I know one thing, I wont be buying another BMW without first reading the service requirements in detail.I guess that goes for everything that offers a warranty. We offer a pleasure boat engine package that has a warranty that covers it forever basically, but you spend ten of thousands “servicing it” to have that coverage

Quote:Oh man, I just looked at the Tenere at the Yamaha-motor site.
It must be built like a tank, it is 50Kg heavier than a BMW G650X Challenge.
Although the BMW is not made anymore you can still get a good one covered by the original warranty.Yeah but can you afford the BMW warranty if its a similar thing to the BMW 450 having to replace the crankshaft at 70hrs @ $3k to the customer plus more to keep it under that warranty
Hey WB one is a serious off road bike that’s what the BMW site says

And the Yamaha is a touring bike

Thats like comparing chalk and cheese Wikd I reckon, although 50kg is a lot
