Just thought its something important worth sharing, they have to be tight enough to hold and brace like snow boots.TB
One thing Asterix will tell you straight away with the ultras that wearing them tight in the thigh can cause them to creep down and that some people try to remedy this by tightening the adjuster only making the problem worse.
I find that once the brace is on to get it tight then release the adjuster at the back and stretch your leg then lock it in, a 1/4 turn tighter on the adjuster and its perfect every time for a days riding. I don’t end up with indents on my legs and they never move , plus I’ve crash tested them too !!
Nick
Shin Nick, the indents will be in your shin should have explained it better. Yes not over tight on the thighs you mentioned that when you said yours had been slipping down on the phone a while ago. There will be no difference between the new or old asterisk braces. Besides sliding down to tight up the thigh gives you pins and needles   I haven’t had mine move in the 6 years I have been wearing them and I have even crash tested them all the way to hospital  Thanks again Lotsa
(just went and reread that thread was three years ago  and the first time I wore the braces on the Tenere. Mal 5.1 suggested the chances of damage was every bit as high thanks Mal)
I don’t wear the boot tethers, the ones I showed you at Seaview, I have never had them twist, if anyone is thinking about using the tethers read up on them you need to cut a hole in your boots. Just make sure you remove them with the allen key provided as they can dig into your UPPER SHINTB

Ace wrote:You have my attention again with the pods TB. I know they aren’t as good as the Ultras but something has to be better than nothing…right :unsure:I might go and try some on to check the comfort level after reading the feedback in this thread though.

Jane and Arlene are outside their nursing home, having a drink and
a smoke, when it starts to rain. Jane pulls out a condom, cuts off the
end, puts it over her cigarette, and continues smoking.
Alene: What in the hell is that?
Jane: A condom. This way my cigarette doesn’t get wet.
Arlene: Where did you get it?
Jane: You can get them at any pharmacy.
The next day, Arlene hobbles herself into the local pharmacy and
announces to the pharmacist that she wants a box of condoms.
The pharmacist, obviously embarrassed, looks at her kind of strangely
(she is, after all, over 80 years of age), but very delicately asks what
brand of condom she prefers.
Doesn’t matter Sonny, as long as it fits on a Camel.’
The pharmacist fainted. :laugh:Please read the first post, we are waiting on a few now that have nominated and we are waiting on the quote for the cheap option for a few which I hope to have today. I reality we may not have enough people requiring the cheap braces to get as good a discount as I hoped but we will see. The take up on Ultras has been great. If this continues to flow I will look at a neck brace bulk buy and other things, may even do a buy for something 4 times a year
