Since I put the new bore in about 10months ago it’s not used oil. Since I’ve had the drain plug re-drilled flushed it over and again and I’ve ridden about 15hours before saturday but I still have it in the back of my mind that there’s the slight possibility that something has made its way through. I’ll be dropping the oil and screens for a look anyway.

If something went through it and I dont think for a second it has, no chance is my thought but if something did it would be in the screen, the oil pump the filter but it would have nothing do to with the rings, trust you would fail a big end, main brg or some sort of lubrication failure before a ring related lubrication problem

On a serious note, I usually use the 520 “O” ring chain the bike shop happens to have in stock at the time.

You meant the cheapest O ring they had in stock at the time knowing you ;)

Not sure here but a couple of things interest me.

It happened all of a sudden did it? Rings dont just lose tension like a light switch or wear out the same.

Does the crankcase breather go into the air box?

I have seen a KTM 525 at once cart wheel down a hill and blew smoke like a cold two stroke for the next hr back to the car.

He said he cleaned the oil out of the air box and it was fine all afternoon, someone on the ride said kato’s do that when dropped but I had seen that happen again and if you ride with Moto you will see one of them on their sides

That’s all I know on the subject, wouldn’t panic yet, but would get that option ready maybe

Interesting Mick, personally at the start of the season thought “oh SuperMerriman has returned and that’s that for this year” glad i didn’t put any money on it.

nice to see the depth of talent is as always.

    BC

Didnt SuperMerriman miss 8 weeks and at least one round with a broken shoulder, and still only lose by 3 points, fair effort.

I agree with Moto good to see someone new win’

Pressure washing in fine if you use common sense in my opinion, I have pressure washed my bikes for as long as I can remember, we always had a pressure washer with Dad having trucks and I have a petrol engine and electric type

I comes down to how you use it. Its a lot like alcohol when used correctly its fine, then there is Moto at Hillend and the Caves rides doesnt know how to use it or how much just a mess

One of the things I am interested to hear some info on is if anyone has heard of DR’s being fitted with pillion pegs.

I will have to check when I get home Princess but I thought I read in the owners manual that they don’t recommend pillions on the DRZ.

They dont recommend them Jeffo, put see you typed the word princess  well, what can I say :P we tried explaining the seat everything but when a womans heart is set ;)

Why of course Mal, although I hope this doesn’t put strain on the husky, I see its had a bitch fit since the tractors handed it arse to it on its home turf  (please don’t think I am being cruel to Mal, we spoke on the phone recently and he knows its coming)
On a serious note would you ride it or the 510, remembering although the morning is tight, the run to Hillend is very open the next day is open and then very tight again

    Done Mal
