The XR70 will be the gap filler till he gets an 85

TB
OK so there has been an update to my shed, Kieran was riding his PW50 12 months ago and we ended up with a KTM Adventure 50 mainly because it was to cheap not to buy, since buying with Rats help it has been tidied up and had a top end rebuild to now be this

Sometime ago Lochie was found to be out riding the XR70 he had and I started looking for a 65cc motocross bike for him knowing that he would out grow it fairly quickly. Rat did me a deal on this 05 KTM 85 that I couldnt say no to so yesterday I meet Dave and picked it, today was spent finishing it of and getting ready for Lochie who hasn’t seen it yet. Dave you wouldnt recognise it would you?

Looks different now eh Dave

Cheers Dave and will have Lochie ring you when he gets it

Adrian the road riding is not an issue its only when racing, also how about a picture of the said purchase when it arrives

Yes Moto I know Champo bought your brgs I fitted them remember as I do a lot of your repairs / maintenance the night before rides
The bearings I was talking about are the ones in the newer KTM’s the fronts especially a thin style, I only know this because I live in Sutto’s lately and have been taking parts for OBT members all over the state recently so I see the parts and prices
Heres an example, real life not cut and pasted Moto
I went to Sutto’s the other day to purchase some hand guards for Lochie’s KTM 85 the hand guards are from the KTM hard parts catalogue
RRP $151 yes two plastic guards two bolts two cable ties
The acebries (sorry for the spelling) same thing
RRP $71
Another brand sorry cant remember the name
RRP $39
Mal did me a deal on the KTM guards but check that price difference
That is why I said if I raced maybe, they have quailty gear the Kato’s but that two K difference for trail riding to big a gap for me
Enjoy whatever you get Ade

Quote:Do you know about the whole AS sticker/compliance issue with helmets bought in the US?Do you Moto
I have two US purchased helmets and have had some problems when racing because of the Australian compliance issues, the law states if its DOT approved it is ok but that hasn’t always worked for me. BTW DOT exceeds the AS compliance so it shouldn’t be an issue but can be go figureKTMRAT would be the best person here on the site to answer as he is a scrutineer
I read that you had purchased the helmet overseas but didnt think you raced so didnt think it was worth raining on your excitement of a new helmet..
So enjoy
Rat can you clear up the DOT V AS issue

You will get takers, its the only way people meet is to step out of the comfort zone. Biggest prob with the ride is the date as there is so much already on which is
and :laugh:TB
Sorry Beatle but I cant help but feel that auto fluid is for automatic transmissions, do you know how an auto works and why that fluid suits its use. Cant help for mind that the manufacturer in this case KTM would have a recommendation that in their testing would give you good life and service from their / your gearbox thus making you happy, telling your friends earning their (KTM) product a good name and thus selling more bikes?
Everyone I know that uses ATF uses it in little katos (like an auto) or they run it in bigger bikes and change it all the time, take into account your time and the amount used changing it with more regularity I feel would be as expense
I work for a major engine manufacturer and we recommend you run a certain grade depending on which engine as we want it to live as long as it can, we have our own oil but bottom line is we need the grade of oil to be used
Just my thoughts
TBWas in at Sutto’s this arvo they still have sets of these speed straps left in stock if you are interested they are the go and a bloody good price

Same as you, normally Crash deals with turning it on and off its the only reason I have him around on a ride

I THINK I’M MORE EXCITED THAN EAGLE:laugh:
Yeah of you go
I have a GoPro and one of the above and the GoPro is 100 times better, easier to use and way better footage in my opinion, I also tried / purchased 3 different cameras before I settled on the GrPro
