Project has come to a halt, the “excellent running condition” engine is a smoker, big time. No air filter. My fault, I bought it off a mate and trusted his assurances.
No time to put a top end in it before the day. I may have a ceremonial car park bonfire.

No oil supply to the top end, 700cc is heaps! Ha, well, heaps for a 250 anyway.
How does oil get to the top end again? up a stud cavity or is there a gallery?!
Anyway, time for kibblewhite inlet valves, hot cam stage 1 and an 09 R head.
That’s crap luck, very unusual though.

As with the Tenere, I have landed the new shipment of springs, we can run this deal again!
$750 suspension only or $800 ride in ride out.

    At $750 it’s 28.9% off!
    What you get
    Fork springs. Rates available .50 .52 .54 .56 .58 .60 .65 .70
Emulators, PD valves, V4s valves, whatever you want to call em’!
    Shock spring. Rates 8.0 9.0 10.0
    Revalved stock shock.
Fitting, service fork and shock, suspension fluid.

    OR

$1295 with an MSC downunder damper kit.

I had a customer this year who claimed the DR was un-ridable with modified suspension and no damper, that all DR’s must have dampers fitted and i was crazy or stoopid or something to not offer it as a package.
So, despite the fact that there are bazilions of DR owners in the world with modified suspension and no damper, we now have the “complete package!”

I updated the featured bikes section on my site, http://www.teknikmotorsport.com.au/Featured-Bikes/Suzuki-DR650/

$750 suspension only or $850 ride in ride out. Can’t do $50 for the remove and refit, I’m a one man band at present, the shock takes to long to get out!

There must be more to that one, loose engine mounts? Seized linkages? It’s broken on the heat affected zone. Again.
I have a series of photos for the BMW800 top shock mount repair too, it’s pretty full on

    Just keep riding it!
Good Ballard training tip, when you get tired, don’t stop, just slow down until you recover, then get back into it.
