Ask Wolfie, he has a good set of used Fox Adventure boots. Pre loved and pre stretched. They feel like ugg boots, super comfortable. Offer as much protection as a wet Rabbito’s sock.

    Hi Dickie,
Safe and sound in the shop, stripped awaiting assembly. Could you send me a PM with your real name and address so I can send them back to you?

    Seahorse,
I’ve used the SKF bearing so far but it’s pricey at $117 from SKF. There is a Chinese equivalent at $55 but we would all rather not go there.
    Suggestions?

That’s a sweet video! I should stick that on our website.
    Thanks!

I’m going top close off this deal soon, so if you have not e-mail/called by the end of the month that’s it. Running low on springs so we’ll go back to the normal price of $950 for just the suspension of $1130 ride in ride out.
If you want to do it, get your skates on and email Ash! sales@teknikmotorsport.com

The 9.6 is pretty firm for most people. Team Moto won’t have revalved it.
You could go with the rebound adjustment option. I used to have shaft assembly’s but I stopped importing them. Why?!
Pretty simple. The dampening specification of the shock is wrong for its intended use and the spring. By changing (revalving) the spec the shock works very well. If you had an adjuster and never moved it why do you need it?
If you bring me a shock $240 gets the job done.

Glad you got it sorted. I just spent a day resurrecting an 07 WR450 that had not run ADR gear for years.
It had a few breaks in the harness. No fun to find them. I could not get the blinkers to work with the hi tech flasher can, the 1930’s bi metallic strip one did the business after banged it on the frame a few times.
Dirt bike electrics. Barely adequate at best.

    Hi Hoges,

Ok, you have done the right thing, had a play with the clickers. For you it probably won’t result in the ride you want, the springs are a bit soft.
So, without talking to you and asking a few more questions , a set of springs at the least and maybe a service depending on hours etc.
Give me a call at work on 02 4732 2626 or send a PM and we can sort it out.

Lastly i should add I had to get serious about thread repairs dealing with air cooled 4 stroke engines. They get so damn hot the alloy goes soft (annealing?) after not too many heat cycles and it causes hell. the XR400 was known for blowing head gaskets, what happened was the studs pulled out of the barrel. The initial fix was 1D helicoils. They pulled out too. So now you have a big hole. Enter the loc-sert.
Eventually we went to 2D and 3D inserts in helicoils but the thread jumping issue was such a pain if the installer was not super careful.
2D and 3D timeserts was the real answer, i’ve never had one pull out if it didn’t have a helicoil installed first.

So my simple rule is this.
If it’s an assemble and forget fastener (crankcase bolts) the helicoil is fine.
A high use fastner (drain plug) the Time Sert is the go.

This is my box of time serts for M5 to M10. The inserts come in 1D 2D and 3D like helicoils. They are not cheap, this set was $900 10 years ago. the inserts are about $5 each to buy (refill pack of 10)
    I love these bloody things.

This is a spark plug repair time sert. It’s a solid thread that uses a broach to expand the insert into the threads, mechanically locking it into place PLUS threadlock will dry in it too AND if you need to remove it a little heat and an EASY OUT will get it out with no damage to the parent thread.

Now you can see the issue with helicoils, they are just a spring you wind into an oversize tapped hole.
    1. Loctite won’t hold them in, it’s an anaerobic sealant (needs absence of air to dry) The gaps won’t let it go off when you fit it. So you wind your bolt in and the loctite gets on your bolt, then it dries. The next time you pull it out the insert comes out too.
    2. You need to be careful not to skip a thread when you install it, especially if it’s not a deep hole, the tap will stop cutting before the bottom and the insert will jump. Then you wind the bolt in and cross thread it at the bottom. Awesome to take out. Not.

You can see from that last photo there are 3 different depths of coils, 1D, 2D and 3D. The Std 1D are 1x the thread diameter in length. In most cases that’s all the thread you need.
However in high load situations you may need 2D and 3D.
You can also see the solid inserts, the timesert brass looking sparkplug inserts and the pre loctited Loc sert for when helicoils are stripped out
