Thanks Muccy,
But I want to get my pound of flesh out of these first…..but cant understand why no one else has not come upon this prob…surly there are others out there that have these fitted as well…I mean they came with the bike as part of the freebies you get..
Funny thing I have always had handgaurds on all my bikes….when I got this on in 05….I just kind of left it and up until now only just put them on….so I have had a pretty good run with only one broken brake lever…..so thought wont test my luke and now I cant even get a screw driver even close
yeah but they were free…so will use them until they break…..then get bb…I think
Yeah come to think of it I do have to slip the clutch a bit on hills etc…..standard does not feel that good…but I suppose it will take a while …like you said a few sets..
seemed ok on the ride…but thought if any other crf boys fitted them and noticed the washer…
Yeah when mine turned up the box looked like it had been opened and resealed again…..no big deal..maybe yours got mixed up from falling out of the box in transport to battys
no not the small one for the pin on the peg mount….its a large flat round washer…fits the brake lever bolt hole perfectly….just wanted to make sure I have it in the right section…
I will check tonight…but mine went on pretty easy…I did have to remove the rear brake lever…and yes found the little circlip that holds it on at the back….could of very easyly just started undoing and caused havoc….but felt it with my finger before I started.
One thing thou there was no evidence of any old locktite on the thread of the brake lever bolt when I removed it… and yes it is sealed by a very small seal….so just cleaned it and re greased it…no locktite yet…I will monitor…
Also while my little 5 yo was jumping all over my back and wanting to help me as they do…rrrrr…I heard a little ting…and a flat round washer fell out from somewhere……had a look and looks like it might of come from between the frame section and the brake lever…but not sure…checked my honda manual…no sign of it…can anyone verify please….I ended up putting it back there when I re assembled…but just not sure if its right.
Went for a ride on Sunday….takes a little while to get used to …felt like I was leaning back to much on hill climbs….just need to remind myself to get right forward on the bike I suppose..

Quote:Fitting?: Pivot Pegz are pretty easy to fit. They come with full instructions as well as new split pins. If you need to remove the rear brake lever to gain access to the footpeg pivot bolt (as I did with my CRF), make sure you remove the safety clip at the end of the bolt first. A dab of loctite on the pivot bolt thread will also help it stay in place. Don’t forget to grease the pivoting surface of the lever bolt. Thanks buddy…..might have to make you an honourable QLDDDDDDDEEERRRRR you are so helpful

Quote:Nah that makes sense, I was thinking that it was due for a change anyway (I think?) and I don’t expect I’ll ever take the pegs off again so was going to not worry about it but I think it’s a weakness that I should try to address as a “just in case something happens in the bush” though I can’ imagine why I’d need to remove the pin/peg in the bush.I think that will do for now, thanks for the help but I’m polluting this GB thread
I’ll post up if there’s anything interesting to report
Hey Austy,
Will I have to do that to my crf as well…to make it fit …do you know?
I know most of you are from south of the border….and are probably not interested …but does anyone know what happened to Kirk Hutton on the Sun race….as his time seems to have disappeared off the time sheets for Sun? :S
have they arrived yet.. :woohoo: …..have they arrived yet :woohoo: ….have they arrived yet….. :woohoo:
