welcome to the light side
enjoy her bud
sorry to dig up an old thread but have to say mine have copped a hiding but they’re still holding together and doing their job like a charm. Had a huge crash at yellow mountain cross country and tore my left quadricep. Lucky to only have that as it should have shattered my knee in all directions.
Cheers gentschanging you fuel mix sounds like a possible win in itself, 40:1 is where i’m running my 300 and its great. Does get a wee bit boggy after a long time spent in the tight stuff but a quick squirt clears its throat.
5th-6th gear wheelies aren’t out of the question on these thingsWell Murph between the 180km/h sections there was singles, rocks, hills, mud bogs and what ever else you can think of !
hahaha i was pissed off and really didnt care if i blew the poor 300 up. it was screaming for km’s on end tapped in 6th
now some pictures
here she is, all shiny and clean before the big race ….
but at the end of the race things weren’t so pretty, hard day in the office indeed
Rode 220km’s, 180km/h on bent tripple clamps. Can’t say i didn’t give it a go
THEN THERE WAS THIS !
I still haven’t been able to rub one out
Busted leg, bent triple clamps … still managed to get one good picture in
So 5 days on and here’s the bruising on the leg .. Thankyou guys for doing that bulk buy on knee braces many moons ago. if it wasn’t for them i’d be looking for a new knee and waiting for a femur to mend.
After all this but … im keen as bloody hell to go back
I started 222nd and faught with bent triple clamps, a busted leg and a rear tyre literally letting go 20kms from the finish to get up to 101st after day one in 3hr 27minutes.
Big learning curve but keen as keen gets to go back, I ran 14-48 gearing on my 300 and can happily say had no one pass me on the straights. Then again I held the poor thing flat 180km/h on some road sectionsthat’s definatly a rush I have to say
so .. I survived one way … but spent day 2 in Dubbo hospital after a injury in prologue got the better of me. Keen to go back but its a bloody good ride. Pictures to come.
I got to raise my packet of pain killers to that, the cell ultras saved my knee at yellow mountain.
Looked like a cracker ride gents ! Need to see more of it on here
tops story and pics
Will see what happens I may head out there for a day or two, how long you guys going to be out there ?
G’day Ben
I’ve done the ride once and its a great run, unfortunately I don’t remember it well enough to take someone on it. From memory there is 30mins of tar road ( excluding the gingers section to the resort we usually stay at, but that’s always good fun ) But if you organise a ride I’m more then keen to come along and help where I can.Very nice !
Nearly threw my hat in the ring for the Sydney round but just not organised enough but could well go down for a look.Happy birthday Andy, hope you had a good one mate. You’d think at your age you would know better then to follow people up hills haha
I’ve been keeping a close eye on the race. Have always watched the race for as long as i can remember. The old boy used to get super excited this time of year.
Seen a video today of Price hitting a creek crossing, far out if that were me id be a goner!! talk about getting crossed up. But he saves it and keeps it flat ! Thats awesome
Joan Barrenda really left me blowen away but, stage 7 snapped his handlebar on the left side 120km’s from the end of the stage and only lost 6 minutes to Coma. I cant even imagine how he done it but geez he done well
Shall be a good one to watch right to the finish !
Aggh bugger I would of been keen too but i’ll be on a road trip to Darwin … always next time
bit of a giggle for friday night
