I don’t mind the dust either , way better than foggy goggles !!
Is the Copeton Dam a good event ??
Nick
Don’t get me started on foggy goggles haha glad them days are gone
I honestly have no idea ! This is my first full year racing .. the only race I did before I started this year was upper horton

Dickie wrote:Hey Rookie, do they put the times up, got a bit of family competition happening here.Yeah they will post the lap times and results on the amcc page mate haha nothing like a bit competition
Cheers old girl … there was only two woman there today if you had of went you where guaranteed a bit of silver wear
Dickie wrote:9 laps in Iron, awesome effort.Took Geoff and we only had the 450 just to have some fun. Geoff did the sighting lap and came back to report a bit dusty and rocky. I lined up in B grade with no idea what I was about to face but as luck would have it I left last in the group after 3 or 4 kicks of the old girl.
Managed to catch up to one dude but the dust made it impossible to get close and with no idea where I was going I settled in to learn the course. 2/3 of the way round I had two C Grades go flying past on a hot lap.
After 6 laps together we were averaging just under 30 mins a lap so it was decided to take our last two laps slow so we didn’t have to do lap 9 but Geoff came in 5 min too early so I sent him out again.
Had a absolute ball of a time and loved the track more as they day went on.
No idea where we came but who cares.
Haha think I remember someone struggling at the start of b grade, mate I know what your saying about what have I got myself into haha
I managed a low 25minute lap and a few around there … but it fell apart by the end and clocked a 40minute lap hahaWas thinking about backing the compression off 2-3 clicks on both front and back just to stop the jarring
Shall be there ! Bike is loaded ready to rock and roll .. entries on the day are fine
Oooh is that the bars or the bar raises bent stm ?
Yea raced 2 rounds there so far, first round had a cracker but 2nd round not so good … 3rd corner 1st race got way out of line and we went for a trip over the hangers with a cartwheeling 450x chasing me, knocked the wind out of me and thought I broke my ankle but all good now haha
I installed some nice new heavy duty tubes as I’ve been there 2 times and had 4 flats … safe to say I am now pretty good at tube changes haha hopefully won’t have to do that tomorrow
Mate can do but what’s this crap about been on 250’s ! I’ve been reading your thread with great interest !Will deafinatly give a report on how the race went !
Aaron wrote:I love the rookies outlook on the whole racing thing.. Not only am I mad enough to think about going more than 4 hours flat out but I want to do it on a evil monster that could rip my face off at any moment. Lol. Love your work mate!!!
Haha the way I see it Aaron if I’m having a ball of a time riding a freak of a bike I won’t notice the time or the pain haha
Well after a fair get off at rd2 of the sprint series at uralla I’ve had to get a parts list together
2 Ballards heavy duty tubes turned up!
1 set of handlebars are yet to turn up
1 Front wheel bearing kit as the ones in there only just passed
2 Kenda washugal tyres turned up!Bring on the first round of the pony express series at uralla !
A huge bowl of pasta the night before race day! The carbs will give you the energy needed to get through the day of racing
Keep your fluids up, as I found at upper Horton you can’t go a 25km loop without a drink for hours on end and only drinking at fuel stops, camel pack is the go
Tools … leave them at the pits, if you happen to brake something or get a flat, solider on to the pits and send your team mate out
Fitness …. dear God I hope you have been training haha
As for pace get into a groove and get a feel of the track before going out and cracking a lap at speed, only asking for a mistake going to hard to soon
And at the end of the day have fun
Just curious guys what time will be finish up Sunday ?
I’ll be over on Friday I just don’t know what time I should be there ? What time is good to arrive ?
I’d be keen for that loop from the house too to settle some of the nervesAlso keen for the BBQ
Can’t wait !!!
Well 1 week out ! I’m keen azz folks
