well i havn’t been on a OBT trail ride just yet but 2014 is looking like the year i get out and about!
My best ride for the year how ever has to be between a weekend at goanna tracks and the 4 hour pony express at narrabri.
My mate had returned from the army on a rare brake and he wanted to go hit up goanna, how ever my 450 was out of action due too a valve that didnt want to stay in spec. So i borrowed his 03 ktm 125sx. NEVER ridden a 2 stroke before this day. After getting the hang of the theory that it loves to have its neck rung, i was flying faster then i would on a 450. Then the offer to ride a 300 two smoke came up, i took it for a run and it was love !
Then there was narrabri pony express! after arriving in narrabri on saturday evening it was off to the RSL club for tea … and a few too many beverages. The next morning i felt like death, the entire way to bike territory i swore i wasnt riding … then a merrical happened ! as soon as we hit the entry i came good. And with only a bacon and egg roll on the got and the taste of carlton dry in my mouth, i rode one of the best enduros. Finishing 2 minutes off 3rd and feeling like i could keep going for another 4 hours … the bike however mighten have been as keen.
