Ive worn one since I tore my liver open in a accident near 5 years ago on the bike. Definatly helps hold the internals together.
Have recently got my hands on a leatt vest+kidney belt. Its like the full pressure suit. But the arms are missing. I was wearing a 661 kidney belt before and had trouble with it digging into my hips. The leatt gear is very supportive and comfortable. The kidney belt can be moved up and down and has a lot of adjustment to make it very tight, but it never digs in.Rookie
Coolatai and uralla are much alike and you hit the nail on the head about rock surprises in the bull dust, copped my fair share at both tracks.
Yeap sworn by a thumper for roughly 15years, took 2 days on a 125 and a afternoon on a 300 to change that right around.
A duck walked in a butchers shop, waddeled straight up to the counter and asked if the butcher had any worms, the butcher looked strangely at the duck and said no, this is a butchers shop. The duck thanked the butcher, nodded his head and waddeled out of the store
The next morning the same duck waddeled into the butchers shop, straight up to the counter and asked if the butcher had any worms, the butcher, understanding annoyed replied no, this is a butchers shop. The duck nodded and waddeled on out
The duck returned again the next day! Straight up to the counter, asked the butcher if he had any worms! The furious butcher screamed no we don’t you stupid duck, you ask me one more time I’m going to blow you’re head off with my shot gun, defeather you and sell you. The duck a bit shocked, nodded and waddeled out.
The next day the butcher was cleaning the display window when the door opened, he turned to see the same bloody duck ! What the hell do you want yelled the butcher, the duck asked do you have a shot gun I can borrow?
No I don’t why’s that replied the butcher
The duck piped up, well in that case do you happen to have any worms
Cheers guys,
Yeah was great to have my family there taking some happy snaps and cheering me on, made the day a lot easier Haha
I’ll be selling the CRF in the near future, going to tidy it right up in the next month and throw and for sale sign on her. Been a realiable bike no doubting that. But after spending a long weekend away on a 125 and 300 2 banger I’m making the change to a ring tinga.
STM there were some stand out tracks to me, bike territory was a blast, the only track been black soil was a good change, also the enduro cross section and the other unique sections made it a blast.
Copton dam is a great track, nice flowing bit tight sandy pine forest with a open black soil section along the dam sore line made it a cracker of a place.
Upper Horton has the best atmosphere but, its just a really good day the entire family can really enjoy ( they all are like that but upper Horton just seems to be that bit better. If you can handle the dust its an absolute ball of a day.Rookie
yeah he knocked me off my spot, he rode well. Too right it would have been but thats the way it goes at the end of the day. Big plans for next year, should see much better results !
Sorry for the delayed update guys, but good news the crf lives once again !
Re assembly went smooth ( all bar that stubborn bearing on the head stem, nothing the oxy couldn’t fix ) once re assembled everything looked spot on. With a week to spare before upper horton a bit of riding was doneI’ll get round to doing a ride report from upper horton, one hint but, dust
Cheers for all the help guys !where exactly is this park boze ? been meaning to get out there but have never found an exact address, looks like a cracker of a place to ride.
sounds strange to me, not something people you ride with would do … ever.
I’d definatly chase up who did the previous work on your bike, someones f***ed up.
LC4skin wrote:Probably just the rubber mounted handlebar clamps that are bent. The bolts bend pretty easily too. They move and bend way too easily, talk to STM he has had this problem a couple of times now.
This is one of the problems i thought i had as ive had this happen to me before, but this time they are both straight. When i bent them before i got my local engineering shop to spin me up a set out of harder material. Definatly worth the investment.
I’ve taken my forks to work and checked them, forks are NOT bent. YAY !
cheers for all the help guys, muchly appreciated ! will keep you all up to date on how re assembley goes.
dttugboat wrote:Yeah that should work but make sure u check it from both ends . The wheel looks misaligned in the wrong plane for it to be the triple clamps or headstock. If it was the frame they usually distort or crack if you want to give it a close look.I had a really good look at the welds around the frame and it doesnt look to have cracked or have any signs of stress ( thank god ) definatly plan on checking both ends.
adam wrote:Now that everything is apart it will probably go back together nicely.Even though you loosened the triple clamp bolts (I assume all) it still may have needed a bit of pressure to put things straight.
It takes a fair old wack to bend a bike, usually the operator comes out even more bent
Check the forks anyway now that there out, may be a good time to change the fork oil too
If your changing the steering bearings then you may need to persuade the bearing off otherwise give it a good clean and grease.
Adam.
Thats what im hoping has happened adam, the top triple clamp was tight on the forks so i have a feeling all it may have been was they where twisted, but like you’ve said now its apart i might as well go right over it and give it some love. The bearing is going to come off because ive buggered the lower seal trying to ‘pursuade ‘ the bearing off, so now it must go. The top bearing will be removed, cleaned and re greased.
I’ve checked the axle ( i thought it might of been that too ) and it was straight as straight.
I’m gonna take the forks to the workshop i work at to make sure there true ( stick one end in a vice and rotate the free end ) i think thats the best way to check that ?
Once again thank you for the birthday wishes !
Ill forgive you this time gibbit, but i hope to see you at Upper Horton. Best of luck at Thargomindah, be sure to let us know how you go and what it was like out there.
Thanks guys so much, I didn’t expect this at all!
Had a cracker of a day, cruisey day at work, found out Carlton Dry make a long neck so thought it’d be rude not to grab one while I got some tinnies. Got some cracker presents that’ll come up in the product review shortly. But have not started on the bike maintence for inverell pony express this weekend, guess that can wait for tomorrow.
Cheers guys very much,
Rookie.
Wish the mines would start booming again so I could afford afford a place like this. Good luck with the sale
HUGE thank you to TB for organizing this and thank you Sutto’s for coming to the party, i know its a bit delayed but haven’t had time to get on the bike until today. These braces feel awesome! so comfortable ( once you get used to them and learn how to put them on haha cheers Andy for those videos, i was well and truly off the mark haha )
So once again huge thank you guys, much appreciated !
