If the jetting is to lean the bike will run hot.
But i would check the other things out fist like the cap, thermostat, blockages and run a good coolant like Engine ice or liquid intelligence.

It comes down to maintenance, If you look after it, it will look after you, i had an 03 450 from new and did well over 100,xxxkm and it never replaced anything in the motor except oil, filters, plugs.

Dan from here gave it a go on the weekend and said you need to be able to hold your leg there, Balance, Throttle control and turn into it just enough, Alot harder than it looks.
