Just to make sure everyone knows that this was an Adventure ride (All adventure ride reports should finish with an Arty KTM shot 👿 )

Just out of Louth on the last day

    (AKA Hard Kore)

TB, did you get any grief from the locals on the road between Drake and Tenterfield? I’ve heard it referred to as rocky river road but I think its actually long gully road.

I went down there a couple of years ago and quite a few of the locals come out shaking fists and one of them in an oncoming 4WD played a little chicken with us.

Its a public road but I’m guessing there had been a few idiots going down there at a not so reasonable pace (given live stock etc.) and upsetting them.

in reply to: What would you want In a bike shop #248786

    Gloves in all sizes.

The amount of times I have gone in and found a glove I like but they don’t have it in my size. Probably better to stock a smaller range of gloves, that you would recommend, each with all sizes than a stack of different gloves with half of them missing medium and large sizes.

Helmets are similar but obviously expensive to stock too many unless, as TB mentioned, you can arrange consignment.

I reckon you could reduce the number of helmets you need to keep simply by realising there are only two types of head. Square and round. Find a brand that makes helmets for the square heads and one for round heads (both of which you are prepared to recommend). Concentrate on those.

And for an extra 2 cents worth: It is easier to sell (read convince someone to buy) if you personally believe it is the right product. Helps you sleep at nigh as well.

Thanks for the video. I have been wondering what to do about the Air Filter on my Tiger.

Where do you get the per filters from.

THREE times he dropped the KTM and his two riding mates didn’t pick up a camera, they picked up his bike… my bike rolled off the side stand and he wants it on the front page of the Sydney Morning Herald! Bucky overbalanced and tripped and now he’s accused of falling off while riding?

    Just one goat… and you’re a goat f…

Bucky, all future rides run for the camera, not to help Massey!!

just a side note on his style jtb i come across a creek crossing and got coathangerd by a low branch thought i cut my throat, bikes off fly in the air from whiskey throttling it ,i get up with my hands around throat thinking the worse ( i was ok ) and hes grasping for the camera to get the photo

Gotta say that still has to be the funniest thing I have ever seen out in the scrub. I thought HB was going to grab his ears to make sure his head didn’t fall off.

I finally got around to uploading these photos.

This is where Bucky took his fall. Was getting a bit late in the day. I’m not sure who actually decided to lay down first, the Tenere or Bucky :pinch: :

Either way Bucky was a little camera shy. I think he may have been shedding a bit of a tear for his new ride :( :

Has to happen sooner or later (I know that doesn’t make it easier to swallow though

in reply to: August Naivgation Ride 2013 Wauchope to Bacca and Back #248281

Well it was one long windy trailride. The trails were flowing with most of the time spent in second gear. I loved the route. Was probably expecting something a bit more open more suited to adventure bikes but there was nothing an adventure bike couldn’t do (the GS guys proved that).

My special thanks has got to go to one of the OLd Bull riders who gave me back my wallet after dropping in the driveway of the Caltex in Kempsey. I had all my cash in it. I meant to find him on Saturday night to buy him a few beers but I didn’t make it to Nambucca. Let me know who you were and I’ll owe you next ride (please no impostors :silly: )

As far as not making it to Nambucca goes I managed to drop my bike while alighting a few times  . Fitted a a side stand to the 640 which is of the self retracting kind. The first couple of times I caught it fine but when it fell on the ferry something cracked in my wrist. By the end of the day couldn’t use the front brake and coul only get a quarter throttle. So the short story, I’m goin soft :S .

Ohh and what was the deal with the detour Down Fiona Crescent south of Port. Did TB have someone he wanted buzzed by 50 bikes on a Saturday morning :woohoo:

Annoyed with myself that I didn’t make it to Nambucca but will catch up next time.

Forgive him, for he knows not what he is doing ;) One day he will own and ride a reliable piece of machinery and wonder why he “batted for the other side” for so long!

Which side I bat for is a personal preference and one which I’m comfortable with B)
