    Gday H,
My last 3 sets of boots have been Gaerne, the first 2 lasted me about 8 years each.
Currently I have gaerne SG12’s, super comfy even walking around in them.
There is no breaking in period with them, you can wear them straight away all day.
They are 2 years old, showing no signs of wear except they don’t come real clean anymore (dont get white), durability not an issue but they are a bit pricey.
For me, they are the closest thing to the ground when you are on the bike, therefore the first thing to touch the ground (hopefully) when you fall off so, like a helmet, I am happy to spent the extra for the protection and with the long life span its money well spent anyway
    Just my opinion B)

Replace it mate, is it really worth it for a few hundred bucks?
If it was your kids helmet you wouldn’t have even asked, so why is it any different?
Get the crashed one painted and put it in the cave B)

With Boony and Snowy having damaged or repaired knees now, TR may be looking for a set and I know of a few others that maybe in the market. What about a bulk buy for Asterisks?

If someone gets the numbers I will find a deal through a few different sponsors if you guys want

    TB

Thanks TB but I have just received mine today :)

    Hi Ecks,
I can confirm the durability issues with the six six one MX3 braces, mine lasted about 6 months, only 6 rides and could get no help from six six one, the importer or the place I bought them.
I will be very reluctant to buy another six six one product again.

    Hi all,
I called into the Penrith MCA on sunday, not a bad store but they didn’t have enough staff on hand to cope with the amount of people in the store, they also didn’t have any of the Asterisk knee braces that I wanted and I know the Auburn store stock.
So after wandering around there for 30 mins or so I jumped back into the car and went to Auburn.

It is a smaller store than the Auburn one, and therefore they cant carry as much gear but they still did have a fair variety.

Looked like it wasn’t really full and they are probably still trying to get the place stocked up. I will call in again in a few weeks and see how they are going.

Hi TR, I can personally confirm that that bike didn’t miss a beat on the recent big ride. A few shiny bolt ons and she will be good for years to come. ;)

And the beauty is you can charge a fee to pull 4WD’s and tractors out of mud holes when your not adventure riding

Its true, thats how they got this out

Yeh cant wait for August mate, its getting there slowly.
I will order an Arai helmet, some ADV pants, and some Asterisk knee guards tomorrow ;)
Hopefully have the damper before the end of the week and I might be able to actually take it for a ride by the end of next weekend

I haven’t ridden it yet, didn’t even go round the royal grounds before I picked it up, just loaded it up and got it home

    Hi OG,
Yeh I was offering to be your personal sweep for one of the loops, same as I did for Rach for the Kowen forest ride.
If you want to take it up I will ride the XR, I rode it for both loops in 2011. ;)

However, seeing as you are offering to video it how about a challenge?
I will ride the XR, for every time either one of us drop our bike we have to hit the donate button when we get home  so thats $10 per drop!!
If your up for it I will pickup your bike for you every time you fall off so I can keep count :P
You don’t have to pick the XR ;)

My counting is not so good though…. 1,2,6,228,634   (maybe we can work out an upper limit for the donation)
