Hi oldgirl,
I have one of the older drift 1080’s that is still going strong. It has been through plenty of crashes in the 3 years that I’ve had it and still works fine.
On a recent ride I thought it might be fun to headbutt a tree right on the camera at low speed (about 15 kph) :pinch:
It busted the catch that holds the battery door closed but that was it, still working fine I couldn’t believe it. I had a fair head ache afterwards.
One of my mates got the newer drift at christmas time, you cant put the big battery in it so he needs to use 2 – 3 of the normal batteries for a days riding ( 8 hours).
But again, it has already seen a couple of minor offs with no drama. They are very simple to use, have a remote control to start/stop the filming and a viewing screen to check that you have it lined up properly before you head off.
Footage it very clear and it smoothes it out well so its not shaking around everywhere.
It does take stills as well but the are not great compared to a normal still camera.I think they are great and when mine does finally give up I will be buying another drift. :cheer:
No 5 this year!!
Hi ECKS-Man,
From my understanding Tee N Cee and others will make you a kit for anything as they are custom made to what you want.
I know Ballards has kits for the TTR’s and they still have XR tank stickers in there catalogue as well.Hi All,
For anyone who is interested, for the next 18 hours anaconda online has the Garmin 62 S for $279.Nice one FF, looks good!
Hi Joe,
Yeh I’m lovin mine too
Got about 1000K on now and its all good!!Hi twobanger,
I used the low mount, its right out of the way you dont even know its there.
I had the bars raised anyway, I like them high as it encourages you to stand up more and I hardly noticed the difference.
Two rides with the damper now and I am totally convinced I shoulda put one on the 310 as well.Loving it!
I rode with a mate last weekend (4 days) who is a better rider than me and he has been textin me today sayin he is sore.
I am good to go again
Hi Chris,
Hope you have a great dayHey Twobanger,
I had run steering dampers previously but didn’t on my recent TE310 for fear of it losing its very nimble feel. Must have been a phase :dry:The 310 used to wear me out especially over a 2 day ride, by the end I would be stuffed!!
I recently fitted a MSC Matrix to my KTM 350 and then done the Kowen forrest ride.
2 loops totaling 130K mostly tight single track and when finished after 2 days I wouldn’t say I was fresh as a daisy, but I certainly could tell the difference from doing the same ride the previous year.I was running it on 3 on the main and 2 on the return as recommended by MSC for tight slow work and its was fine. I did turn the main up to 4 at one stage just to try it but put it back at the next stop as I found I did have to try a bit harder to get it to turn in the tight stuff.
So it’s only 1 ride old but now I remember why I used dampers previously and it also got me wondering why I didnt put one on the 310……..
Hi Bulls Wool,
Not sure if you and your girl are going to the birthday weekend.
If you are I can bring an XR250 that she is more than welcome to have a go on.
My +1 for the weekend has a TTR 250 and she would be welcome to have a go on that as well.
nothing worse than parting with your coin and not being real sure if your gonna like it or not.Welcome dttugboat,
No mention of turnips, game on or water crossings??We’ve got a problem
Hi STM,
They charge $400 but if you talk to Rach down there you might be able to sort out an Old Bull discount.Hi Wolfie,
I’m hearin ya mate but is a reasonable price so if I need to replace it once a year to keep her looking good then so be it!!
When I think about it, its a no brainer:laugh:
sorry James but had to have a chuckle – young fella has nearly got me a few times too!Your on the money Mike, it is Rach at Tee N Cee that can take the credit
