Yeh, HuskyBloke, the boys in blue told us of the two kids they caught on unregistered bikes on the tar. Let them off with a warning apparently. The cops were actually nice blokes and hung around for a while for a chat (while we finished off our beers). The tricky bit was to take a photo of them without them realising. I think I got away with it.
btw I like your name of the place. Three Rs is dead right.

Hey Wally Boy – long time no see. Will have to meet up on the trails soon.

I have a 2007 250 excf, it also has quite a bit of drag. I had someone take a look at it, and was told it was fairly standard.

Do you also find it stalls, when engaging 1st gear especially when cold?

No issues with stalling MTK, just starting.

A mate in town rang tonight to let me know that he just bought a new KTM400, so I may be paying him a visit very soon. :)

HEY HAPPY 50TH Training wheels good to hear your still going ha hows that new euro bike of yours? is it as good as the no drama’s DRZ?

Not quite my b’day yet Mr HACK. I saw the notice as well. Checked my profile – read mm/dd instead of dd/mm. 5th Aug is the big day. Thanx anyway.

KTM is going well. Have clocked up over 1000 kms. Will not start a Jap vs Euro post here, but they both have their pluses and minuses. KTM is much lighter in the saddle (I think an XR650 would be as well for that matter  ). There are some things that I miss that were on the DRZ. Have done several mods to make it more TW friendly. Certainly makes those hill climbs less a challenge.

    Cheers, TW

Hi Morgo is this place near the pines or further north mate? I work arvo shift from 2pm so time is very critical have to travel a long way from Cabramatta.Do you remember me?I was the bloke on the XR who kept on running of the track on the Traning Wheels ride last year at the pines I think you were impressed on how good I could stack without breaking anything or was that Murph the surf?

Hehe, that was Murph the Surf, however I’m sure Morgo would be equally impressed.

We’ll have to do that ride again Jason, with a few new tracks maybe.

    Cheers, TW

Having trouble uploading the video’s to photobucket, it has always been slow but I am having Modem troubles I think as it keeps dropping out and I need to restart the modem to get back on.

Try reducing the file size Jeffro. Can you edit it into say 60 sec videos?

Yeh, good read Jeffro. Looking fwd to the video.

113 kph on the DRZ I notice. That would have been on the ST sections – how’d she go on the open stuff?

Nice mods TW. You should look at bungs for those charging holes though, I can see them getting all clogged up and corroding after a few really muddy rides.

Not required Moto. Had the same set up on the DRZ for several years and it regularly came home covered in mud. I just give the sockets a rinse with the hose when I wash the bike.

I noticed when I first got the bike that dust finds its way into the headlight assy. Upon closer inspection the rubber boot at the rear of the assy is a poor fit (next to useless really, mine was anyway). Have since improved the seal using some insulation tape. No more dust. :)

Hey TB that’s three mods now. What have I won?

We missed the turn off to Milfield by about 10km… should never discount the private road sign. We rode back. Once I saw that bridge we needed to cross the memory of my last ride with Wikbemer started to haunt me…. Oh no…. that dreaded hill that goes and goes and keeps going. I remember my distant experience where Boulder was screaming at me to stay left. I did. This time I made it 80% way up … better than last time. So once I dropped it and the boys got the bike up. I must have been in some zone because a few f%%k words came out and it wasn’t going to beat me. It didn’t. Yee ha.. Got to the top myself.

Good to hear thay you conquered that section of Lynches Fire Trail Katgirl. Well done! Next time it will be straight to the top on the fly. :)

And did you remember that little log across the track right on the bend? It catches out the unwary.

You’ll need it to keep your head steady at the speeds you’ll be doing on that new bike!

Hmmm, I think you’re right Beemer. Perhaps I should fit a second one. ;)

Yeh, I actually ride with Porky from time to time. May have to get one custom made. Bit more expensive than the vinyl products, but his leather gear does last forever.

Sorry TW I had an MCS, the stitching came undone on the third ride and lost all my tools :(
They replaced it and the 2nd one didn’t last much longer I haven’t used one of any brand since, sorry thought I should share ;)

    TB

Nah, good feedback. I noticed in the shop the other day that it was lightweight compared to the RHK.
    Will have to keep looking…

RHK make a quality bag – too big. :(

MCS make a nice bag and it’s the perfect size. :)
