No worries Al.
Good to see that you adhere to the afore mentioned adage ‘Happy wife, Happy Life’.

Long range weather forecasts show a wet November. Let’s hope we jag a nice pre-wetted Friday.

Hope there weren’t too many rips and shreds on the Husaburg following Murph’s ride.
Have you guys seen the video of Travis jumping out of an aeroplane without a parachute? Another fellow jumps out after him and straps on a chute while Travis is free-falling. It’s a Red Bull ad. Certainly worth checking out for those who haven’t seen it. A search on Youtube will find it (‘Travis no parachute’).
Having done skydiving myself I can truly appreciate the size of his testicles.
Hi RipnShred, and welcome to OBT from another who resides up the Valley.
Nice bike – isn’t it a bit fancy though for rounding up the dairy cows?
Bummer Beemer, I’m working this Fri, Sat, Sun.

Kylie,
Regarding how that section of the G N Walk got to be named Dakar Hill …
I made some enquiries, and received the following reply from a rider named Zim:
“Not so fond memories of my cousin braking his leg above and below the knee on that hill, and the 3 hours it took to get him down. Not fun”.
That was before they put the boulders there, as it used to be steeper.
Yeh thanks guys, glad you like the slide show. I also do weddings and engagements.
I enjoy trail riding, and enjoy sharing it with responsible riders. For those that couldn’t attend there is always the photos and video.
The slide show took longer than it should have (thanks to Photobucket) – divorce material I’m telling you. If there are any unsigned artists out there -upload some of your work and send me a link thanks, else we’ll be stuck with Champo’s version of Forever Young!
Beemer – I couldn’t help but notice how you marked the way by roosting on the main trail whenever a side track appeared. I tried it a few times behind you, but gave up after the second attempt – just not enough low revs grunt on the DRZ, or maybe it’s lack of technique.
The drop off Bowmans Rd should be given a name. I just came across it one day while out mapping. I’m sure Old Al or Kylie would have no problems coming up with one. On the day it was called ‘The climb that beat Champo’. I’m sure he’s keen to change that.
ps Have sent photos and a link to the ride report to SINGLETON MOTOR CYCLES.
Some funny captions there Champo.
Well, I’ve got my life back – the slide-show has finally been uploaded. Not with my preferred sound track, but at least the solicitors won’t be knocking at the door.
You’ll notice that it includes some pics that have already been posted. They just look nicer set to music.
It goes for just under 4 minutes, so you may prefer to make a coffee while it is downloading.
All I can say is, after all the work – you buggers had better enjoy it!
Slide-show update:
Firstly, thanks all for the compliments. We all enjoyed the day out. Admit it Al – you actually enjoyed the grade 4 ST. When was the last time to slid down rock steps and down deep ruts with the back wheel locked up, having no control, and soiling your pants at the same time? Exactly! At least we were all in the right company having a go at something like that. Champo does come in handy at times.
Well guys, I finished the slide-show yesterday morning with a top soundtrack, matched perfectly if I do say so myself – only for it to be rejected by Photobucket – copyright issues.
So then I put it on Youtube – only to receive a copyright warning when I did, followed by an email regarding the (mis)use of copyright music. The wife’s worried we’re gonna get sued and lose the house, so it’s been removed.
Spent all yesterday afternoon trying alternate soundtracks, all being rejected by Photobucket.
I may end up posting it without music, but its just not the same. If I do I’ll ask you all to hum ‘Forever Young’ while you watch it.
