Ive had both the aluminum panniers & the wolfman panniers on my 690

    Aluminum Panniers

    Positives
    Hold more stuff
    easier to access
    easier to attach
    secure

    Negatives
Be careful not to get your leg caught under the pannier or you will break your ankle
Wide… in twin track the pannier catches the scrub on the edge of the track
Dents with rocks thrown up from other bike when in convey
Doesn’t pull up too well when dragged along a cement causeway ay 60k
Not waterproof especially thru fast causeways

    Wolfman Packs

    Pluses
    Fully waterproof
Soft side won’t hurt your leg
small ie not too wide on your bike
Can take a decent slide down the road without tearing

    Negatives
    Fiddly to attach to bike
A bit small for long trips
need to be careful of hard edges when packing (have had a spanner puncher the side)
Clasps can break when hit by branches & rocks but are replaceable.

Theirs my 2 cents worth PEP
    ;-)

Thanks Gav for leading this ride ,Mick p & steve for your company. :cheer:
Love the late evening rides & once you adjust to the conditions I find the night rides very peaceful B) B) Got to give it to the local country pubs, when the locals let their hair down its quite entertaining :P  :P . Hopefully a few more of these before the summer/daylight saving is over. ;) B)

Hey Al I run these RK chains have done for years now. They last and are well priced, I get around 18k out of one with 3 front sprockets. I never lube them and as I said get miles and hrs out of them on the XR, 530 and the Tenere

    TB

Maybe thats why I only get 3000ks from my 530 :P :P to much lube , not much stretch but rollers f**ked
