Gday mate, I have had an xt660r and i am now riding the tenere 660. The r is a great bike with a good 250+km fuel range and a different power curve to the tenere it is still a great bike. I am thinking of buying another one and running the barret high exhaust and a few other mods and using it as my weekend tourer. nice and comfy riding position and a good handling bike i think. Good luck with your desicions… My only reason for up grading to the tenere was the picture….i seen a pic of the new tenere in a trail zone mag and the local yamaha dealer told me they were on there way and that was that, i got me one of the first new age 660’s in 2009 and now have just under 40k on the clock with out a problem in the world.
