Get the rubbers from the Germans (off the road). They are heaps cheaper than your local yammy dealer.
Can you give me the part number for those blinkers please TB.
Can’t quite read it in the photo.
ThanksIn my opinion high front guards just look cool. This is not Dakar people. This is Aus.
Apparently Yamaha is offering 2013 model Teneres in white in Australia.
I want one!!!
Anybody else?I have a 450 with 700klm on the clock and it’s one year old.
The Tenere is 2 and a half years old with 14000 klm on the clock.= sucks to be me.
Bring back the days of single and no kids!!!! Ha
One thing I forgot to mention, buy a clear taller screen, not the darkened “smoke grey” one. It is a bit too dark to see clearly through especially in shadows where the rocks hide!!!
Riders over 6 foot should all have a tall screen I reckon.
Cheers Gus.I have SW Motech and they fit great etc.
Only thing I don’t like is my knees touch them when I am sitting forward on the bike. (I do have very long legs)
Great protection, but a little annoying……Mine is an Off the road one and cos I am tall, I got the slightly taller than standard one. Its awesome. Means I can run MX helmet and wind still goes over the top. Good investment.
Wow, I can never get numbers like that.
And in the high country, with luggage it was pretty ordinary. Ie get to 300klm and it wants fuel.
Some damn big hills down there though. And some great opportunities to pull on full throttle…..
Maybe thats why I only get 2000 k’s out of a tyre. HmmmApril 1, 2012 at 7:48 pm in reply to: Mickp’s Haunted Stream/Billy Goats Bluff ride at Dargo #219133Good work fellas,
4 of us just came back from our 2 week high country tour. What a blast.
We gave the haunted steam a miss due to earlier adventures in the crooked stream with drowned bikes etc…. and just hit the Angora range road instead.
Note to other travellers, watch out for some of TB’s suggested tracks. That South Basalt Knob track is a bit sketchy on a fully loaded adventure bike. Can be done, but more like 450 country I reckon. Can’t be bothered doing a ride report sorry, but just think about 12 days, 4000klms and tracks that between places like bega, cann river, dargo, omeo, mansfield, orbost, etc etc and you will get the picture!!!
Cheers
Gus
Yep, as first thought, it’s awesome.
Did 820 klms out to Texas and back on the weekend and loved it.
Bike actually turns now which is a huge plus!!! Corrugations are no dramas and it doesn’t try to dive it’s head into the road when you hit the brakes. It even laughs in the face of pot holes instead of bottoming out or stepping sideways.
So, good job Teknik for getting the “featherweight” settings spot on.Hi TB,
Did springs front and rear, valves in the front and Teknik magic with the standard shock.
Did think about Ohlins shock for a while, but having ridden with Tekniks mods, am glad I just let them have their way with the standard one.
Bike now behaves like an “adventure bike” should. If conditions get any sillier than that, then I go home and get the 450!!!!!!!
GusYes, welcome to OB’s.
There will be 7 of us roosting the tracks round Texas in the very near future and I look forward to having a look around your local area.
4 of us will be on Tenere’s and the others will be back somewhere in our dust!!!See you on the trails.
Angus
Tenere 900……
Where do I send my deposit?
Great work guys,
Keep the tips coming for the high country highlights, I might just know someone who will benefit from GPSDaves hard work…..Cheers
