thanks for the feedback,so it seems there tires don’t rate like their tubes.
Hows his mate gets up him for not trying it,then says watch out that’s a hell of a drop dude. He didn’t look like he wanted to do it at all.
should have stuck with plan AJusto, top idea i like a good improvised repair pic/story,gotta file that one away for an emergency, one day repair.
The injury toll is mounting, looks plenty slippery i think ya got more rain than sydney buy the looks of it.
yeah he needs to know the potential of his v/strom….
Great report fellas,
Looks like an awsome ride.
Hope the wrist is better Kram140 looks like it would kill and youve got my vote for posing for the pic too, must have been difficult.
Hows the Vstrom on the climb, i gotta show a bloke at work that rides around coffee shops and thinks he’s an adventurer becuase he has a gps mount on his bars.
Hope i can make the next one.
And great idea with the clutch lever never thought of that, must have been unlucky to snap that off under the bark buster Justo.
No probs, ill keep an ear out and warn the others.Which direction and time you starting from?
Good report there Jeffro, wonder if old mate on the wr had an extra fender bag in that back pack? Youve got heaps of patience too mate when my bike gets chucked i normally let out at least 4 x profanities. That climb looks pretty steep.
I towed a mates crf, when he smashed all the rads and hoses with a spare tube slung over his bars then tied to the webbing/strap then hooked to my bike. With the tube you can ease off better with the tube absorbing the take off and differences in your speeds. And it will tow in a straight line.
But i had to make him run along beside it on the hill climbs  Only hassle is make sure its his tube. And he buys you a beer.
Dunno about the bats but all you have to do is duck up into the ceiling and your in luck.
The last “tight” owner of my bike used some car carpet underlay in the front where it burns away cause he was to tight to rip the lot out.I use the DEP stuff $12 a re-pack, spose lot of re-packs for $40! Be hard to get it compressed as tight as original stuff though.
Interesting he might be onto something and with less leaking seals, he’d know having been racing for so long & gotta admire he’s dedication.
Yeah i was standing in front and thought no way hes not riding a TTR ! But couldn’t see the frame.
Does anyone know what model bike Geoff Ballard was using?
I saw him pit, and it had conventional forks on it? I always thought he raced a wr450.
Yeah its a good money pit,but sometimes it all just happens at once.
Me too ECKS-Man,
Master cylinder spat it,which turned into pads, disks then fork seals, dunno about the feeler guage tried it a few times but the leak just came back.Just learned how to change them myself only cost $50 a pair plus oil.
Then sprockets and tires, now looking at some of my gear its trashed too. No wonder the mrs calls it the money pit.
G,Day Mal
That sux mate just logged in to see how things were going to read the news, you looked pretty smashed at the refuel, good luck with the rest mate. The tracks looked good from what i saw still great to have gone in it i reakon.
cheers
