Renmark – Yunta – Almost Hawker (Craddock Hotel) 487k’s
Well fuck.. at least it is worthy of a photo
Later on down the road there is another KTM in fail to proceed mode
After 45 minutes of tyre changing lessons, we were off. Later on i found out the battery on the “good” ktm was left on the key..
Starving, thirsty and almost dead they raided a mining camp for water and foodApparently the pub is shit so pressed on into the setting sun
As im sure you all know riding into the sun is shit.. I spent the next 45 minutes riding into it.
Most memorable riding experience was finding a momentary refuge in a culvert only to have a wallaby try to commit suicide twice.
The little battler bounded across my path only to eat shit in a pot hole/rock and return the same way it cameThe rest of the way in i was looking at black dots hoping there were no landcrusers heading my way
Woke up the next morning in a field of really old broken glass.. Poor campsite choice
It’s all on the go pro, and that ride set the benchmark for suffering
Ouyen – Hattah – Renmark – 260ks
Sand Sand and more Sand, This was the best time on the bike i have had for a while plenty of get offs and lay downs. Munched on a couple of codapain’s a whole lot of caffeine and it was throttle on and GO! Fired up the high beam and spotlight
Hattah Lakes Store
This went on and on, ended up on the pegs 3rd gear having a riot
The last of the track to the border was interesting to say the least, Gopro dead at this stage
Imagine getting railed on heavily rutted twin tracks and then spat out onto a major highway!
Best riding of the rally, The sand around Hattah is perfect never ridden on anything like it
Wodonga – Barmah – Barham – Swan Hill – Ouyen – 558k’s
Loads of dirt lanes zig zagging the main road and lots of intersections across it woooooooo.
Most of it was quick but there were some deep boggy sectionsGot the first taste of a lot of sand to be coming up tomorrow.. Also caught a glimpse of Craig Hartley fueling his 700RR and pressing on. I had other priorities namely beers and trying not to think of sand dunes fully loaded and fueled. Spent the night in a motel next to the 24hr servo
Im back on call that weekend, Probably wont be able to get out of it either.
A few of the crew i met at the OCR Drysdale had plans to get there

If i was a Religious bloke i would say our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, But im not so on my own again
Bright – Mt Beauty – Wodonga – 241k’s
5 Minutes out of town picked up a stick and threw the chain, Unloaded the bike and started to push it to a level section and Rod turned up and lent a hand.
Plenty of creeks ect on the way up Mt Beauty cold and foggy so no views for us
Lots of slippy Clay downhill sections with evidence of carnage in a few places
Topped off with a good run through some awesome rolling hills
Ill finish this up when i get back right around the scrap heap ride
Cheers
Yea im going back for 2nds .. Its all about unfinished business up there
Getting a steering damper fitted on Monday at Vince Strang Motorcycles and getting on the gas to Birdsville then pointing it North. No plans no track just going for a ride on the bikeKing Strucky wrote:Good stuff UsiLove the photos mate , so you are off to the Cape you have all ready done that haven’t you c

Its done and dusted Wigster ! I’m off to Cape York on Saturday might have to finish this up when i get back
Omeo – Dargo – Harrietville – Bright 318km
Grabbed a ham cheese roll from the bakery and got stuck into this road
Another Log with a story without video
Darcey charged this log and a fully loaded dr650 looks very wrong after catching 3 foot of air in the nose down position, Landed on the front and got spat off with the bike down the embankment with 6 onlookers – Champion just jumped up and gassed it back onto the main track
On a marked trail bike err Trail 3 i had my first decent getoff
Bike was pissing out fuel through the breather and my wrist was pretty jacked up, And there was no one behind or comming back for me. Dragged the bike another 5 meters down the trail to a position where i could unload all the gear and pick it back up
Bars were completelly tweaked out and the ignition switch was destroyed, I put my boot into the swag and without a word of a lie it hurtelled down the hill and wedged itself under the bashplate. Quickly bodged the damaged switch up and tried to catch up with the pack
Just out of Dargo there is a waterfall mentioned in the track notes so grabbed a picture
Also in the track notes there is a big hill
I had a full tank and this hill went on for 5 minutes – front wheel got real light and even lifted off a few times. Later on i find out a few of guys had the wrong gearing and didnt even make it up the thing
Pressed on from Harrietville to Bright which was listed as an easy 33km – it took me well into the dark after dumping the bike a few more times on some nasty clay downhills – Firing the DR through creeks in the dark dodging black cattle sure had the adrenaline flowing!!!! Spent the night in a motel in the main street, Limped into the pub covered in shit looking beaten and an older couple gave me half a gourmet pizza they couldent finish. Pizza & Beer warm fire. Swore id never press on from 4:30 ever again (Sure)
Talibingo – Corryong – Benambra – Omeo – 320Ks
Currently travelling with two champions Pikey and Darcey. It was decided that the bikes would be rolled down to the main street to save waking the whole joint up, Funnily enough Pikeys battery was flat and this was discovered at the bottom of the hill. I removed one of the ratchet straps holding the swag on to use as a tow rope and Darcey towed him back up into the park and proceeded to wake the whole joint up trying to clutch start the dead bike – Absolute pisser the shit that is starting to go on day to day.
We then sat around till 8 waiting for the petrol station to open up with another 6 bikesThe power station is probably pretty impressive but i was on a mission to get through the high country unscathed
First of many trees over the road, This one was easy enough
Then it started to get real fun – Ive never had to ride past an operating excavator with only a meter between it and a 10 meter drop into a creek. Just to make it interesting that part was made of rubble too, Mighta had something to do with the road closed sign i saw earlier so i wasnt hanging around to take photos
Cant go over go under – The Blokes in front were working on making a passage for a good hour up here,
Everyone got hit with leeches for there efforts too
Spent the night camping at the Omeo Caravan Park – Owner there gave us a lift to the Golden Age Hotel, Beers and shooting the shit
Courtesy bus back to camp with a few roadies to top off a good dayIt isn’t in the mail box yet .. Spewing
Bringing back some memories !!!! Great pics mate!
