I guess you noticed the slippery granite sand….very attentive! It was at Attunga State Forest. I’ve only ever been there once and we spent a couple of hours looping around the scrub from the archery club……. I much prefer Nundle.
At Nundle we usually start at Ponderosa camp ground and do the fire trails toward Nundle, there are a few tracks in there that provide quite a bit of a challenge. We’ve also ridden from near the Nundle cemetery toward the State Forest along the ridgeline; it comes out on the tar road heading up the hill where the lookout is. We’ve taken the service tracks toward Dungowan Dam and also the Berry Patch. One of the guy’s I go riding with, Marc knows the forest really well, he does a lot of 4WDing up there, mostly he leads and we follow. The good thing about riding in that part of the forest is you always will come across a major service road. I haven’t really ventured too far east of Pondersoa, there’s a lot of forest there to discover or get lost in!
Where do you ride?
