Hey Usi, I’ll give you 50 bucks for the DR.
Great pics mate. Jealous? Me? Nah……

Brilliant pics Eags.
Reminds me of why we do it.
I hope Mrs Eagle has a better week.

It’s got the same donk and pedals as my SS50 from 1976.
With that engine I would hope there wouldn’t be too many gnarly hills to climb.
I don’t think mine had a crossbow though.

July 19, 2014 at 9:33 am in reply to: TONY KIRBY MEMORIAL RIDE – BRIDGE TO BRIDGE – 6 DAYS 2500+Kms Sep 2014 #257718I am super keen to go this ride but cannot take a week off work. Could do up to Wauchope and pull out there.
Acceptable to the Ride ADV gods or nay?

Great photo’s Eags.
Wish I lived up your way sometimes!

technogeekery wrote:Hi wigster – cheers for that. Good to hear it fits you well. We’ll see what the bike that TB recommends comes with, but yes, I’ve always needed to tweak my bikes to get them just right (and just mine…). Hopefully get to check it out tomorrow.Been off climbing myself for a bit – first elbow tendon, then smashed my clavicle a couple of weeks back falling of my mountain bike. All plated, and recovering fast, keen to get back on the rock again. Don’t to too much tendon shredding stuff, mostly easy adventurous trad climbs – bit like my motorcycling preferences
Anyway, maybe when I have my bike we can hook up for a ride & climb weekend – camp at Newnes, Kaputar, Warrumbungles, one day riding, one day climbing – see how sore we can get
Mate, if you can get your bike sorted in time come on the Lithgow/Orange ride. We can sort out a week end then. I am an old tradder at heart. I got a bit bored of clipping bolts and living on lettuce sandwiches in the Blueies.
One thing I did learn when I last climbed trad was I don’t have the cojones I used to have when I was 19. I don’t like running it out so much these days!

Hello Technogeekery,
You will enjoy the Tenere on the Trails. I am a tallish bloke too and find it a perfect fit for me with risers.
I also have a Tiger 800 XC which is actually good on the dirt for a biggish bike, but like you I have very average off road skills, so the Ten is better for me, especially on the Old Bull “Special”sections.
As TB et al will tell you, it’s worth getting the suspension sorted. Makes a big difference to the enjoyment of the bike. Teknik at Penrith did mine. Very good.
I am a rock climber too, though I don’t get out much these days. I save my spare week ends for riding. Centennial Glen was my favourite tendon shredding crag. Last time I was there my mate had to have a ride home in a chopper (via Nepean hospital). Seems there are quite a few similarities between climbing and adventure riding!

Good stuff Usi, keep it coming and good luck.

Rough heads alright. Dan had the good sense to keep his helmet on.

Hey Wiggy, glad your bingle wasn’t worse mate, can’t believe you pushed on for mittagongGreat work TB and crew

Well mate, I had two choices.
I could have gone for a ride in the Ambulance, spent the night in hospital with no beer, no company and hospital food, to be told by a Doctor “ya shoulder is buggered, you won’t be riding tomorrow”, or I could ride to Mittagong, have beers, some good laughs and a steak to be told by Wolfie “ya shoulder is buggered, you won’t be riding tomorrow”.
No contest really.
