Great RR guys. I just had to nip off on the bike up to Terry Hills for a quick blast after reading them. Hardly Camerons Corner but It will have to do for tonight. I didn’t see any pigs either!
Can’t wait to hear more at the Lithgow nav ride. How was the Beemer in the sand Ace? Looks like you haven’t scuffed her up too much!

Nice one James.
It must feel great to stretch the legs of your Ten.
Wigster
Great pics TB.
There’s something about a Tenere in the desert.
I love my Tiger, but…….

I look worse than that after 16 beers and four rums.

I got a pair of Thor Quadrant for 80 bucks from the seconds bin at MCA when I got my KLR and went on my first adventure ride. A very tame affair compared to the Old Bull events.
I couldn’t walk in them, change gear or brake properly. They also leaked like a sieve and I looked like a right knob riding to work in them.
Other than that they were great.
Soon changed to BMW Savanna’s. Great touring/commuting boot but I tghink the extra protection of an mx boot is the way to go on the next OBT ride, hence the SG10’s. Anybody got ’em?

Flying Fish’s idea of packing cells is brilliant. I’m off to Kathmandu (the store) to get some.
I had Andy’s with the 20 litre fuel mod and they were great but I had a tendency to take too much. You should have seen what I hauled around Tassie on the KLR a couple of years back. Was comfy though.
Now I’ve got your set up Lefty and it’s really made me re-assess what I pack as Wolfies are a bit smaller than Andy’s. I should already know this as I come from a climbing/mountaineering back ground where every gram counts.
A good feature Rotopax fuel cell which mounts on the rack inside the pannier. Gives me a range of about 420k’s on the Tiger. You might not need it on your new steed though.

I’ve got a pair of black Gaerne SG10’s on order as the shop only had my size in white.
But looking at those I might change my mind.

Don’t worry ACE he did that to me on the first 2 day’er as well. Untill I figured it out!!!
Thats right Wiggster…….we’ve got your number
O Man I cant wait for this ride!! How many sleeps??
BTW Ace I’m planning on bringing my Latte machine for this one. As for tire choice I was probably going to put a Karoo on the back, but I might run something a little more aggressive on the front….but not sure what and if it will happen, just a thought at this time.
FF
Ha Ha Amy, actually the reason I rode behind you and Ace is because I CAN’T BLEEDIN’ WELL KEEP UP!
Especially with you on that rocket 250. I can’t imagine you’ll be any slower on the 800 either!
I wonder if 606’s will fit the Triumph. Anybody know?

Ace wrote:VB totaller more like itI have just put a new set of Metzler Karoo 2’s for Cameron Corner. Really happy with the front and have run them before. Can’t comment on the rear yet but for the record I can’t fault the Kenda big block I just took off…really good mileage and good in sand and gravel. I would definitely use them again.
not much help but I am still new to the bigger bikes and tyres for them.
Thanks mate. I have a Mitas EO7 ready to go on the rear, just wondering if it’s up to the job if it’s wet.
Might look at the Karoo.
Looking forward to a thousand schooners with you on the 22nd.

I don’t remember you getting us lost Ace! I’m going to try and not to have too many beers on the Friday night this time. It was all your fault, I’m normally tee total.
What tyres are you going to be running on the Beemer?
Wigster
I used to go and watch the speedway at Monmoore Green, Wolves’s home track. Ollie Olsen, Ivan Mauger were my heroes. I bought a pair of replica speedway goggles at the track. Wearing them on the way home (in the passenger seat of my Dad’s Vauxhall Victor) the elastic snapped and the centre bridge broke.
I was heartbroken.

Went on my first adv ride with this lot in Feb and although a real eye opener and steep learning curve had an absolute ball :woohoo:
Cant wait till the next one in June you should try and make it ,there well worth it
In regard to the GPS,if your eyes are anything like mine, get the biggest screen you can.I cant read mine very well when riding making it basically useless
James
Hi Isambard,
If you would like to tag along to the Lefty School of getting lost on an ADV ride you are more than welcome to come with James and myself on this one. (Oops!! I forgot to ask James  Is that ok James? ) And maybe one other rider can join us? Wigster…. Have you got a riding Buddy? You are more than welcome to join us for an Awesome Foursome!!
Just a thought if you are all interested.
It will be just a nice steady pace and no pressure at all.Cheers,
The left OneHey Lefty,
Missed you on the last ride Champion. Happy to tag along with your group.
Did you get your aux fuel tank fixed? Sounds like you might need it for this one.
Hey Eagle, are you completely and utterley SURE you are not coming?

isambard wrote:Sounds great guys. Count me in.And will check out those GPS options soonest so I can start on the wiring.
And good tip on screen size James. Not the most steady if looking down all the time.

Isambard,
I have a Garmin Nuvi 500. A bit cheaper than some others but seems to work quite well, especially after TB has weaved his magic upon it.
I have to wear glasses to see it though, but then I am old and have hair growing out of my ears.
