Thanks for the offer Eags. It might be pushing it to be away Friday night as well, given my absence the w/e before!

If I can make it I’ll hook up with James as he suggested on sat morning. I am on the northern beaches James by the way.

We could meet you up at Dungog by lunch time mate no problems. I do like a good rally. It means I can bring my Kermit chair.

Hey Eags, I might be up for this one even though it’s the week end after the nav ride.

Haven’t been to the Karuah rally before so keen to check it out.

What time would you be leaving in the morning mate?

At least the stress of setup is relieved with all the knowledge and groundwork already done tried, tested & proven B)

Will be a pity to see the Tiger gone though ,,,,,,
Hope to get a ride in with you again soon mate to check out the new ride

Your right there Eags, it’s not as though I’m the first bloke to but a Tenere on this site!

    Catch up soon mate.

    Thanks James.

I’ll tell you what it was hot out Tamworth way. I nearly died of thirst on the way home. In fact so close to death was I that I was only saved by rehydrating at several hostelries in Scone. I rehydrated so much I had to stay the night in one of them. It was awful I tell you…..

I confess the Tamworth bike is mine.

Flew out there on Friday and rode it back. Only done 6800k with quite a bit of bling on it.

I liked it straight away and was surprised how easily it cruised at 120. Very comfortable too (already has aftermarket bars and risers)

Dropped it off with Lefty on Sunday for TB to take to Nick at Teknik for the suspension work. New twin pipe from Jason at Barratt going on too. Happy days!

I just hope I don’t smash it up on the next nav ride. It looks brand new at the moment, not a scratch on it.

I have a feeling it won’t stay that way for long.

Even a silver tongued devil like myself is having trouble persuading the other half that I need two bikes, so the Tiger might have to go.

So Wigster, any update on the new bike?? maybe in time for the first nav ride

Well TB, I am thinking long and hard about it. There is a Ten up at Fredrickton (Nr Wauchope?) with only 2500 k’s on it. Looks pretty stock, for about 10 grand. Have I got time to get there, buy it and get it farkled for the Nav ride?

Probably not. I was really interested in that one down at Bateman’s Bay. Had everything done I wanted but just didn’t have the time before Christmas to get there due to moving my business and I think it’s gone now.

I should have jumped on Wolfie’s yellow one when I had the chance. Bloody kicking meself!

You have obviously seen this months Adventure Rider mag about the Ten. Now that’s what I want!

I thought the stock Ten was plenty poky enough, but putting a Barret single on and removing the cat seems the way to go. Easy job?

Check on the Batemans Bay one to see if it is still there mate, I am going down there on Friday and could have a look at it for you if it is still available.
I am taking the VW and could bring it back for you if it worked out.

Thanks Trailraider, I’ll see if I have still got the blokes number at home tonight. It’s gone from the web I think but I’ll check.

Ha Ha. At a pinch I might be able to keep the Trumpy and get a second hand DRZ. Decisions decisions

There is an XT660R project bike getting around that I am sure you will be notified about real soon  ;)

Will you keep the Tiger as well mate ?
Would be sad to see that beast pushed aside ,,,,,

No Mate, the Tiger would have to go. Unless I sell a lot more glass this year I can’t really justify 2 x bikes.

It is a great bike and I’ve just had a great week away on her, but some of the trails I’ve been punting it along with OBT have seen me on the edge more times than I care for (not the bikes fault). I think a lighter single might be the go for my rider skills, and a lot cheaper when I bin it.

Now tell me more about a 690…..(have you done the fuel pump yet!)

From Thredbo Diggings campsite to Island Bend, Guthega, Smiggin Holes etc, exploring every little track I could find. Some great riding around there, but Geez it was COLD!

Backed off a couple off interesting but steep looking tracks (fully loaded and on my patma, poor excuse I know) so I’d like to get back there with some company or on a WR.

Back home for a shower and a cricket update (groan) and off to camp at Newnes tomorrow night and somewhere else on Monday night (maybe Kanangra) then back to work on Wednesday. My God that will be a shock to the system.

Gps shouldn’t pull battery down overnight, they have a safety switch under the bike just forward of the centre stand that cuts the bike out if you lay it down, I know this has given problems in the past and Plinth had to fix it on his round oz trip. They get a bit sticky and need attention from time to time another guy found his bike cutting out after erosion jumps etc and that was the cause for him too. Maybe worth a look.

Thanks Boulder, I’ll check it out. New battery in, seems fine now.

I dunno, modern electronics! I could bump start my old Transalp even when I left the heated grips on for two days!

Thanks guys. Bike started a couple of hours after my first post, and started fine first thing this morning.

I left my GPS on overnight a couple of weeks ago and perhaps I have stuffed the battery. I read on a couple of Triumph forums that the battery has to crank out a certain voltage to actually start the bike rather than just turn the engine over.

I am going to try and get a new battery today to be on the safe side.

    Thanks again.
