 I have no worries about the grade of the ride Beemer  That is just TB with his infatuation about me doing half rides
I will see what we have happening for the weekend before sat night & will let you know if I can attend
I might be going back to Tuncurry again is all I am worrying about
Cheers & P#&@ OFF TB
There you go, planning to go from Millfield to Tuncurry Via Cessnock & wherever on the super commuter.
You adventure riders amaze me sometimes :kiss:Eagle, there will be no shame if you can’t finish the ride, honestly.

OK Eagle
You’re in TW.
Looks like this ride is a goer barring a catastrophic fire warning.PM me if you have time this week for a pre ride.

TBI must say I too am keen about a dual sport bike like the Beemer G650X Challenge but I do love the 4fiddy still.
They have’nt made any 650X’s for a while, I might have got one if they had.
Still might, second hand ones can still be obtained with warranty cover.Ollie wrote:

BMW have now perfected it (with help from Ohlins) and indeed it works very well thank you very much.
I always wanted an IT 250, never got it though.
Where do you guys get all the parts for these things?I think the tank size varies from year to year.
A mate gets a good 100ks out of his, 04 model I think.mal5.1 wrote:
Quote:That’s sad news that you will not be here as often anymore Moto. But it good news that you are doing some investing.
I would like to try and encourage you not sell all your gear and keep 1 bike for the occasional ride. But if this is what you want to do then good luck mate. Like Mr Blue said make sure you still live your life and get out and do things you enjoy.
It’s been a pleasure to meet and ride with you and I hope we can catch up some time.
I agree entirely with Mal, well said Mal.
If I may offer my 20c worth; dont put all your eggs in one basket, several smaller investments are probably better than 2 biggies.
Also, 1 well maintained bike can easily get you say, $5K if you get caught in a bind. Think about that. All the best Moto.

Anyway, where are the reports of todays rides ????
Too Hot ???
All home safe ???I rode, not on this ride but can confirm it was/is a bit hot out there, I seemed to of been getting reflective heat off some of the open tracks .
TB, I saw a group out there lead by a KTM blowing smoke like a 2 stroke with choke on, when pointed out his reply was “yeah blew her up this mornin”.
Not ideal weather to be riding, let alone a KTM, let alone a blown up one!It would have been convective heat rising off the road/trail as it is heated by the suns radiated heat, as well as some heat radiating off the road/trail as well.
Glider pilots look for specific land features which produce a colum of rising warm air in which they can circle to regain hight.
Features like asphalt runways and roads, anything darkish can produce a good thermal as they call them, even KTM bikes produce them 😆OBwidow wrote:

Turns out I arrived only moments after you left, never mind. You know all BMW gear has 2 years warranty dont you, not just the bike.
Also my dealer (not the Hornsby one) gives me Trade price on all accessories and some spares, try that on them, it can make a big difference when you add it to the 2 yr warranty for things like gloves etc.
I found the BMW Rallye 2 gloves the best gloves I have ever worn, by a country mile and I have had quite a few pair in my time.
Dont let the price tag affect your decision because their discount might be a big surprise now you have the bike
In any case you could just borrow Mals credit card :ohmy:Oh TB that’s one of the best reports I’ve ever read. :silly:
Give yourself a prize for me :cheer:

I dont know about the others but I had iced coffee, but the ice had already melted when they brought it to the table
Cracked pepper pie was good 10/10 and blue berry was 9/10 (should have had whipped cream on it).
You might like my “Show me your map of Tassy” ride report, sorry about the choice of text colour – you may need to adjust the brightness/contrast but it should make a nice read I hope.
