Happy birthday Dan

Now wouldn’t that be niceI might be keen AB post something in the rides section and we might get a crew together, I can help or even lead if it’s in the Wattos.

I think Dan may be right, the equipment in the most danger will be the part you sit on all day.I agree Jeffro once or twice should be right, well maybe you should be ok

When My mates 3rd gear went it just went without warning, made a clunk or two and that was that, no time to pull the clutch.
The worry is what happens when broken bits move around inside the box?training wheels wrote:
Quote:Beemer – I couldn’t help but notice how you marked the way by roosting on the main trail whenever a side track appeared. I tried it a few times behind you, but gave up after the second attempt – just not enough low revs grunt on the DRZ, or maybe it’s lack of technique. It was semi intentional, that’s what a brand new tyre does and I must say the back end of this bike is so smooth I don’t know when I am roosting sometimes – my apologies if I roosted anyone, I was trying to keep it down.
Another tecnique I have used is to leave a donut in the dirt with a burnout mark in the required direction.A bigger header pipe and a JD jetting kit will get the DRZ roosting no worries, but really, a new tyre always seems to throw the dirt more

Quote:Thanks so much tedubya and wikd. That was one of the most enjoyable rides ever. So much so, racy and I thought about doing it again the next day.And thanks for letting me ride your bike beamie. Even though it was set up differently to my bike, like I can touch the ground and reach the clutch lever on my bike, I was really impressed and disappointed when my time was up.
No worries Champo
I liked the TM too but if I had one I would like to alter the power band a little, I am so used to having low RPM grunt.ECKS-Man wrote:

It’s good to see the project getting seriopus.
If I wasn’t my own finance minister I would like to run two bikes but as it is I can only manage the Beemer and two pushies 😆
I would be more concerned about the gearbox issue stated above.
A mate of mine trashed 3rd gear in his WR450 and the onlt road sections he ever did was short transports during trail & ST riding.
The repair job cost him $1800 :Sold al wrote:

I have to agree with Eagle here.
I cant see any reason to do this on a motard only bike, I never had a reason to do it on mine which was ridden in the dirt a lot.It doesnt even look like bling to me.
Just my 20c worth.
Well we didn’t see The Bill
They must have been detered by the weather.
Riders were:
Training Wheels
KylieD
Racey Tracey
Champo
Justo
Old Al
Ross
Merlo
MeThe weather was perfect, only one shower that didn’t last long.
Tracks were excellent and no falled trees, someone even cut away one fallen tree since TW had done the pre-ride
TW and I did the leading, Champo swept and we used the corner man system most of the ride. The rolling race was great fun, a nice loooooooooonnnnnng gently sloping hill with corners and smooth parts where the speed was better if you had the right line.
I never thought it would be as good as it was, this should be an Old Bull tradition.
I will let TW announce the winner and prizebut it wasn’t me
After we arrived back at the cars and had a break some went home and Kylie, Justo, Champo and
I went for another short run to Muirs lookout and returned on some of the ST between there and the pines, that was excellent too but exhausting.Everyone had a great ride.
I dont have any pics but TW has some he is putting together in a slide show, watch this space….Beemer.

and a rough idea on costs?I dont know if there is some one in Gosford that knows suspension for dirt bikes but Chris at Southlakes motorcycles in Morriset is good.
Probably around $800 to do front & rear.I have learnt it is just as much fun riding in the wet (sometimes even more so) so long as you can keep reasonably warm.
Once soaked you cant get any wetter, so just have fun anyway and lots of people wont ride in the rain so we could have the whole place to ourselves :cheer:magic wrote:

Biggest fish I ever caught was a 1mtr hammerhead and it felt like an old boot.
I would be keen to have a go at the big stuff or even a run after some snapper or whatever and Port Stephens isn’t far from me (Central Coast). -
