They must be busy setting the chain length.
Excellent idea Eagle, please PM me the time & location.
Fat looking boom, will the main roll down into it?

After the Miami boat show it was shipped to Japan, where it still is.If you have a spare 2 Ozzie million we will deliver it to your address if you like.Sounds good Mick but the problem is I live next to a lake which only has a shallow non navigable entrance.
I could not cope with a half hour drive/ride to get to my new boat :S
OH the bank probably wont lend me $2M anyway.
2 years ago it was $2US/nautical mile for experienced crew/helm I think but yeah, you earn a bad rap for yourself if you bail halfway.

Ride with care,
DennisJMHi DennisJM, it is always good to greet a new member here.
Why aren’t you out riding on such a good day? This wire incident, is bad and highly illegal.
Can you let me know when and where exactly it happened?
You can use the private message system if you dont want the location publicised.Cheers, Beemer.
Ha, Ha Mick, nice one – couple of events actually.
Good to hear you did a good job of commissioning it. I bet the owner was glad it happened to you and not them.
Perhaps you didn’t tell?Speaking of off shore events, I was delivering a Sydney 38 from Southport QLD to Sydney once, owner was on board and they were sipping champain and eating caviar in the sun, doing about 5-7Kts under spinnaker off Surfers, perfect postcard stuff, I am half asleep on the foredeck.
Anyway I heard someone say something about steering (no autopilot installed) and the spinnaker collapses and we’re going round in circles!
WTF? Panic stations – pull down the kite, dump the main yeah yeah “WTF happened boss?”“No rudder control”
So we started the motor and setup the tiller and continued with two people required to steer.
Then he is gone, nowhere to be seen, WTF? Search the ship!He was in the big space the 38s have around the rudder shaft trying to fix the 3mm spectre that had snapped.
Clearly this happened before and they forgot to fix the jerry rig.We ended up using an old halyard line to fix it, which probably lasted years and we made it back to Neslon Bay before the weather stopped us there.
Hey Mick, did the Hatteras have a networked computer system which could tell you where to pull in for fuel or did it have to be calculated manually?
OK so they prolly just wack on the sticker kit and muffler and another 1.5-2K on the price tag.
I am looking at the Leo Vince exhaust for mine, it’s probably at 1/3 the price of the Akro and is half the price of a Remus system and it looks noiice with the carbon fibre end thingy.
As you would know Mick the multihull is a very stable boat.
That one looks like a nice bit of kit too.
Mono hull (or tippys as some call them) are fun too but not as good for entertaining the VIP’s.
It is great fun doing social racing but one needs to sail ‘defensively’ because all the wannabee’s do it too and some forget their manners, others have no idea about the rules and some have no regard for manners or rules (a bit like this place).
Thats why it is fun watching the ‘big boys’ bashing into each other while you sail past for a winEAGLE`02 wrote:
Quote:Cheers Mal,
That job is about to end anytime in the next 4 – 6 weeks but :blink:Eagle if I were you, with future employment uncertain, I would definately look into joining the delivery run.
I would be surprised if the owner did not fly you home but you may not need the trip home straight away.
As they say “you never know whats over the horizon”.
Just be prepared, dress well, be open minded and professional.Trailboss wrote:
Quote:Hey Eagle got any pics of the rest of the boat?TB
Tadaaa
So the bump at the top of the forestay is a man.
The pic doesn’t give a real good idea but it must be big if there is room for a radome on the spreader.
Can you tell us who owns it Eagle or the web site of the boat?
Where is it going to live?Uncle Fester wrote:

Kylie bought the DRZ specifically to bling it up and motard it, no dirt use for that bike. He’s OK with it.He’ll find it, I’ve told them about it in the appropriate thread.
You need a good business case for them to unblock the streaming video sites at work. think man think hard. This might keep ya’s entertained for a few secs…..
