5200K’s and 113 hours.
The service intervals and everything all work on engine hrs.Acording to the book I should have done a full engine overhaul including replace the crank shaft at 70hrs!
But thats for full-on competition use.I think I found an explanation at Yahoo;
“Valve clearance in single overhead cam engines using rocker arms and pushrod type engines will increase becaue of wear at the rocker arms, usually the pivot point. There is some valve seat recession, but that amount is less than wear in the rest of the system. “
The Beemer has assist rockers in between the cam and the bucket, so like it says above, wear on the rocker arm will increase the clearance more than valve recession will decrease it.
Does that seem right?
Does to me.
Anyway they are still well within spec so I will just put it back together and log the measurements as usual.

Quote:Is that fur on Wiked’s seat?? It looks like blue mould of cheese.:laugh:It’s actually changed colour a bit since the ride last week, all the dust made it well, um, brown-ish :ohmy:
And thanks to Kylie for such a good ride report, well covered.
A couple of points I will add;
Believe it or not, I am checking my oil level here and had no idea the camera was out.
The calf and the kangaroo were both spooked by the seat cover, they couldn’t get away quick enough for fear of being the next seat cover.
The cut on my finger is tiny, it just bled a lot. That one little bandaid was all it needed.
My butt hurts from this ride but nothing like it would have without the seat cover.
Thats the best of what I took, sorry no videos, my camera’s no good for that, maybe Eagle can post something up?
No worries Eagle, I got some pics to post up too, soon-ish.

Quote:I just had a look and according to Suzuki a DRZ400E wieghs in at a poultry 138KgSee here for further info.
So that’s only 24Kg difference or an extra 21% of the Kato’s mass again. Make the $5K seem any better?
That must be with 90% usable fuel and fluids (a new industry measure) Suzuki are calling ‘curb mass’.
If you click here the previous model was only 119Kg ‘dry weight’ http://www.suzukimotorcycles.com.au/bikes/off-road/trail-enduro/2007/dr-z400e/specifications.htmlI remember reading that Knight now has professional Kawa backing from some of their super bike team.
Not sure if they are Kawa factory people or not but I think he will be hard to beat.Then again, he will have to race against the BMWs :cheer:
Acerbis made the plastics for the BWM G450X and BMW specified they were to be unbreakable.
They weren’t, so BMW made them refit all the bikes with unbreakable unbreakable plastics.
They dont break anymore so I’d say they are OK.It will be interesting to see how Knighter goes next weekend in the WEC, if he can ride the green machine any better than the BMW?
OK the GPS stays in the car, no worries.
I am getting keen about this ride with the new seat cover on my bike.menace wrote:
Quote:c’mon wikd, we all know it just there for your cat to sleep on.:laugh: :laugh: :laugh:Actually he does like to sit on it when I’m working in the Garage.
It does look a lot like Dusty’s fur, just co-incidence that but I thought if it didn’t work out on the bike he can have it to sleep on, the sheep skin that is, not the bike.
I took the wooly beemer out today through Ourimbah forest and up to Jerrys for a cappucino, as one does.
It was perfect for a criuse through the bush and country side.champo35 wrote:

They are a bit tricky but same risk as an enduro bike – depends on the pilot. -
