I just bought an M2R (made 2 race) and it’s good.
Maybe a bit noisey with the vents in the ear cavities but you can tape over them if needed.

Billy carts with seat belts AND roll bars are much safer.
Always run away as soon as the bungers fuse has lit.
Sugar is almost as dangerous as petrol near a fire.

I am all for the phone in order system myself and if I need to I can look at the website with Sutto on the phone helping me.
    Works a treat.

I think a paper cataloge would be nice because I would have something good to read on the thunder box, it could drum up business if it comes with a biking magazine purchase (like Ballards) and, AND, it could be a good excuse to go to some of the big organised rides on business – you know PR work – – handing out catalogs, maybe a mobile bike shop at the same time?

Hint: this year I am doing the Kowen Forest ride Sutto :cheer: it’s a good one.

    Good stuff Admin.
While you’re there could you possibly find the missing Euro bikes forum as well?
    That would be great.

BTW I’m after epirbs for work (due to lack of common sense!!) might start a thread later on what people are using.

Good luck, some of the new 406MHz units are still out of stock, 6-8 week delivery time.
I would only go for a unit with built in GPS and accuracy below 1KM. Some are only acurate to 5 KM.

Also be careful not to confuse a PLB with an EPIRB.

Perhaps a standard briefing document is usefull, but it should include the cornerman system in detail as an option.

But no two rides are the same Wikd, read my last post mate. If you think it would help write one and Mick will proof it and Admin will post it mate.

We posted at close to the same time TB, I dont think such a document will really make a difference.
It is hard earned experience that will make the difference.

TB makes a good point above; if it ain’t broke dont fix it.
One small incident does not really constitute a system failure.

First aid, EPIRB (I know Manly Warringah MCC has one available for it,s members), flares, UHF CB, survival food, the list goes on….

What if any of the above items do you carry on rides???

Personally I carry a first aid kit, white glow stick incase I am caught in the dark, mobile phone and sometimes a 5 Watt UHF.

Back on topic, Eagle I still want a GREEN vest – the orange ones make me look gay!

It’s the ride organiser who should make sure the riders know the system, which ever is to be used and the ‘plan B’ if there is one for when something goes wrong.

A personnel manager once said to me, “there’s no place for complacency”.
We need to do thorough briefings before each ride and update the riders as the ride progresses.

Perhaps a standard briefing document is usefull, but it should include the cornerman system in detail as an option.

Here’s a good refrence site for food storage times and methods….

    Keep it or toss it?

Recipes here are mostly too fancy for me to bother with but it is another source of fine food ideas….
