Yes it sounds like jetting, and if the instruction book says to use 95 or higher oct fuel then do that. 98 is even better.
4 strokes will ‘ping’ if the oct is too low, and that sounds pretty bad.
    Is the air filter clean?
    What bike model is it?

If the throttle slider looks worn that may be part of the problem but that would cause it to run too lean (and OK at altitude).
First get the filter clean then check for leaks in the intake path between engine and air filter and also check the jets are clean too.
An inline fuel filter is a good idea too, even the cheaper ones.

Oh yeah by the way, this ride also features a demo loop for demo bikes from all the major manufacturers including BMW, Sherco, Gas Gas and Husky.
There will also be a beginners loop which will use the cornerman system but registered bikes and licenced riders only.

They make an 8 cylinder horizontally opposed air cooled engine that weighs just 120kg but puts out 180hp! Their 4 cylinder engine weighs just 60kg and puts out 85hp – that’s probably worth strapping in an XR on a power/weight basis!

Yes definitely one of the better rides I’ve done and what an honour to ride with the ladies, it disposed of the ‘wikd’ part of WikdBeemer and made me ride with more respect!
What’s more I now have done two rides without falling off!

No I wouldn’t bother unless you need it.
I only had the controls once on a “learn to fly with us demo” and sometimes regret not getting the ticket but I think I might be dead now if I had.

No worries Champo, I just thought a print button may be an option in the software for this forum, that’s all.

Who can make me a needle that will take sailmakers ‘whipping twine’?
It would need a hole with a 0.5mm dia.

    Answer: use thinner twine.
I will try to get some.

Thanks Champo, the issue is that Matt doesn’t have a trailer and at the minute can’t get there. I’ve only ever had one bike on my trailer although with a squeeze we might get two. It also means I have to go to the coat first, get his bike, come back to Newy do a ride and then go back to the coast and back to the bay.

He’s looking to see if he can borrow his old mans van :) He’s said he’ll come if he can get transport sorted.

What part of the coast Moto?
I’m near the Entrance & could fit another bike on board.

Are we talking about an all day ride here?
If its like a half day ride I’d like to meet at 9 but I can try to make 8 if needed.
I just haven’t been to the meeting point before.
