Bollocks, you’ve done it again!
Fantastic effort considering you made it in the back of a moving ute which was being driven by BoonyHappy birthday KatGirl.
Been on any good rides lately?
I think it does need to stay simple but if there is already an ‘industry standard’ of orange vest – leader, green – sweep, then it would be good to adopt that.
Other groups I’ve met while on OBT rides where vests were used have asked if we were an organised ride, it our vests and rider numbers that do that and those riders have always given way to us when there wasn’t much passing room.
We’ve even been asked if they could join us, thats when we give them this site address so they can sign up and then join the next ride. But as Boony says as long as there are vests the colour doesn’t really matter, so long as they are fluro.
Done deal Eags, bring me one for the next ride will be fine mate

Quote of the Saturday ride: “That bike was brand new when I gave it to him”.
AB, you live and learn.
I don’t believe in jinxing or astrology, just reality and fact.
I am happy the day turned out as well as it did but I think I should have camped Sat. night and been there on Sunday.I like the idea of Orange vest = leader, green vest = sweep.
Can anyone swap me a green one?
I have 3 orange ones but no green. WTF?

He has cleaned up and banned some suspicious IP address and will do another bulk lot as I understand it and tighten up some joining requirements. Yes thanks Chris he does a bang up job but sometimes I sit there and drink rum and watch for moral support
TB
I think you do a good job TB, as do the Admins who I don’t really know.
Without you the site would fall to pieces or fall victim to the hacks and sharks. One constructive criticism I will offer (opinion?) is that missing posts are frustrating when you know it was posted and might conflict with someones attitude or opinion and the post just goes to hyperspace, never to be seen again.
It’s better if the Admin user intervenes publically or via PM.Well done so far guys, keep it going, maybe one day it will be like an Aussie ThumperTalk (with 2 stroke acceptance
).

I am only riding the Saturday.I’ve climbed the bridge 2wice, but it was many many years ago, well before there was any thought of doing it as a legal and commercial operation.
It was late at night both times and we had to swing ourselves around big steel spikes wrapped in barbed wire some 50mtrs above the roadway.
Then once on top of the arch we had to climb through and over the rigging on the maintenance cranes that were there to get to the main stepped walkway on top of the main arch. Friggin scary it was and I could never do that now with my fear of heights.
It was well worth the effort though, even though it was at night.
The second time up we met some guys on top doing the same as us but they had started from the Southern end.We did it the hard way I have since learned.
There was a much easier way of getting up through the inside of the inner arch and coming through a hatch at the top and then using the gantry ladders to the very top.
I believe there was even a guest book inside the inner arch which people signed. That would be an interesting read.I am definately doing the Sat ride only.
Where should I park? The meeting point or the camp site? It’s not too bad for a 1st post, you just need to use imagination.

Actually Boonster, who is wearing the jersy on the Chichester ride? See TB’s post above.
Sorry about the hyjack lotsa
It does look like a good ride but fortunately I’m locked into and committed to the Chichester ride.
