You did a lot of one handed riding, but your “spare” hand wasn’t on your GPS…

What route? There is no route! You’re just a poor simple bloke

One handed riding… One hand on the bars and the other hand on his bar! Poor simple guy can’t even get a route!? Man… How depressing :silly:

But I do find it refreshing that TB is human after all and can actually fall of his bike :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

    WOLFY.. “ARE WE LOST MATE!?”

TB.. “NAH, I’M NEVER LOST WOLFY! I ALWAYS KNOW WHERE I AM AND WHERE I WANT TO BE!! “

WOLFY.. “WHAT!? SO ITS JUST CONNECTING THE DOTS YOU SOMETIMES SEEM TO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH TB??”

    P1000229_zpsc6ec03e4.jpg

And so our pre-ride was in full swing and within less than an hour out of Lithgow, up behind the Hampton’s, we were riding like ADV warriors, taking trails that I would have blown past but the Trail Boss seems to be drawn into like a ferret down a rabbit hole. I had visions of my last birthday ride where TB led me into single track that left me broken and pathetic, but true to his word… “The punters will love this Wolfy”… the trails just got better and better and the Xt660z’s pushed onwards and sometimes upwards, over hill and down dale. Not to mention over logs, through puddles that would swallow a support truck and navigating through ruts that if I peered down I expected to see into the bowels of the earth and lava demons waiting to swallow me whole.

    P1000206_zps67503c69.jpg

But really… I am truly amazed at how our fearless Trail Boss puts these rides together. So many times we followed a perfect trail for miles and miles only to be disappointed after an hour of riding, telling each other “This is GOLD”, when the trail became just too rough or with a locked gate or sleepy farm in our way, often with the road we were aiming for sticking its finger up at us barely a stones throw off in the distance. I suspect that for every 100kms of Nav ride you guys will tear up, TB has ridden 400-500kms of trail to put the ride together. Not only that, we find it, ride it, then ride it again and one more time for luck to ensure you guys have the best mix of trail any ADV rider could wish for.

    P1000249_zps12e85026.jpg

The November/December Nav ride will see us foray into the “Million Acre Forest” up behind the Hamptons, towards Jenolan Caves and onwards to one of our favourite drinking holes, the Woodstock Hotel. Some of the trail we found around Oberon left me gobsmacked and at times giggling in my helmet like a schoolboy who just got his first kiss behind the tennis sheds. BLOODY AWESOME!! These are long ADV days and with summer on the way and daylight savings with us, I can’t wait to ride our next Nav ride from start to finish.

    P1000233_zps9941fb0b.jpg

As usual, the ride on offer will be a mix of comfortable easy trail with splashings of moderate single track with some overgrown twin track for good measure. Also a dab of rocky decent and slick red clay to keep your sphincter muscle working overtime… A fantastic mix of ADV trail, just enough to tickle your comfort zone but never so hard that with care and determination you will be out of your depth. And as usual there will be support and advice on hand. However as always this is “Your Ride and Your Adventure” so you decide how to ride your ride.
Anyway hats off to TB and what a great privilege to ride with the Boss discovering how he puts these great rides together. The next time I hear someone say… “These are all public roads, I don’t need to join a group to enjoy those trails and have a great ride”… I’m going to punch him in the face, spit in his eye and say… “F*#k off dickhead, because you have no idea”.

Another Cracker ride TB. Just a quick thanks to the sweeps, lead riders and DJ and Big Pete for all their efforts keeping riders going and of course being there when Wayne went out in the whirly bird. Thanks DJ for picking me up and heading into Mudgee with me to try and sort my bike out. Of course TB had the issue sorted in five minutes when the bike was back in the shed… But it was COLD!!

Hi Amy.. Well I am keen to get home and try this ride on my new Victory!? :P ;)

Actually I am looking forward to getting on a real bike and hitting the trails with TB and the gang. Clubby has just informed me he is back on for the ride and I also believe we may have some of the YMA crew with us. Hope the weather is kind to us.

Hi Grant, I know when you contacted me before the Yengo ride I may have expressed my concerns with you riding the Multi through Yengo… How did you go BTW?… I was probably thinking why would a sane person ride a $30K road bike on this trail?? Especially when I know so many riders… Good riders… on more capable bikes have come to grief on this trail.

However… I have spoken to TB who is in and out of contact as he heads West… and while we cannot tell you NOT to ride your Multi on this ride, we can say that IOHO we do not feel the bike would be entirely suitable for this ride, especially in the single track / pine forrest sections… However on a good day with near perfect conditions, an extremely competent rider would not have a problem (maybe) B)

    NO SUPPORT!!!!!!

    Hi guys,

Love to come along, and twisted my mates arm Adrian to join us (he should reply independently).

Based in Arcadia, I ride a duke Multistrada 1200 and am a keen kitesurfer (can even carry the board and kites on the bike) and with the local Rural Fire Service

Last weekend had a blast heading across on the Yengo Trail and back on the Old Convict Rd… On way back in St Albans was this huge Folk Festival.

Look forward to meeting some other adventurers and finding some new trails

The last ride we had around 25 riders. But I will let TB tell us how many riders makes the ideal mix for this ride. Don’t forget your heated grips lol..

Ya Boys… and GAL!! What a cracker of a ride. It is rides like these that I remember why I do this shit. Riding at your own pace with a couple of mates at you side, knowing that strung out in front and behind are “cluster-f@cks”… oops I mean… Clusters or small groups of riders managing their own ride.

TB, the NAV ride’s are the future old mate. I don’t care if I never do another corner man ride again after this weekend. Well done mate and hats off to everyone elase who came along. Jim for taking on such a ride for his first big Adventure Ride, Aaron for being Jim’s wingman. Peter Payne and Jason barrett for being part of an Industry that supports this sort of thing and actually “being there”… Amy who is the best Adventure Gal since Annie Oakley. And lastly Chicken for being support as you never know when you are going to need the truck and trailer and I know what it is like to be driving when I could be riding :(

Can’t wait for the next one and looking forward to catching some of you guys on the Scrapheap.

G’Day guys… Wolfy here. Just sayin I am looking forward to the two day Nav ride. This will be my first ride out this year and since we pre-rode part of the course with TB in 38 degree heat along with Clubby, just before NYE.

I have been nursing a busted foot (Yeah another one) but I am hoping all will be well on the ride. Tagging along with me is Peter Payne from YMA and Jason Barrett. I’ll only come unstuck if I try and keep up with these two legends. :silly:

    HEY THANKS GUYS… :silly:

Well I love what I do so it helps a bit. And it makles it easy most of the time when I am dealing with guys that love what they are doing… Riding… and with Pete, well you were out supporting the Scrapheap ride mate and i thank you for that.

I only lent you the WR because I knew it was unbreakable  And who would begrudge you riding home with your mates!?

There is a lot of talk in this thread about other guys who work in the Industry like Jason Barrett and Nick Dole and the gang from Sutto’s. One of the reasons I love what I do apart from getting to ride as much as I do, is the people in the Industry for the post part are the best people to deal with. JB from Barrett’s and Nick as well as Vince Strang and Clubby from Trailzone… All great blokes and always willing to go that extra mile and not just for the deal.

But I want to mention our very own TB… Now he is someone that goes all out to help. Revving you guys up to help with the scrapheap ride and helping me with setting up my bikes and riding them for me :woohoo: Thanks TB… You are a real mate and I’m not just pissing in your pocket either B)

Hey Greg… Thanks for coming out and giving us a helping hand on Thursday mate. Finally I can have a few days off… Been a busy week packing all those orders for SANTA.

So the planned route for January looks good mate. Russ (Lance from Offroadexplorer) and myself are keen as mustard. I’m happy you got your tow hook sorted… Just in case we need to pull your little shitter out ;)

Merry Christmas top all on Old Bull!!

    Lads,

I am off to visit Mick in Orange Hospital today. I will pass on all your good wishes. I will update on my return.

Also spoke to a lovely lady at Adventure moto today who took my order for a bright orange Spot Tracker ($219 0n special) and ICE usb card ($10). Perfect colour to match the Kato! B) # 1 and 2 on the best sellers list! Maybe after the weekend there has been a rush on:) I told her that TB and the OBT crew gave me the heads up and i think she muttered something that I couldnt pick up:woohoo: This seriously must be the one stop shop for any Adv and Trail rider looking for their adv gear. Well done to the OBT crew for getting them on board as a sponsor and the preso on Sat night showed their commitment to our members.

Awesome pics and vids and love the bench racing even if it is via a keyboard.

    Peace out

    Galey

And no I don’t get stuck in mud. I have learn’t that much at least from Mal 5.1 can ride.

Hi Galey, good to know you feel safer in the world now you have your SPOT sorted mate. I missed another great ride because I was looking after a bunch of mates on bikes and we had a few incidents which kept me from getting out there even though we were in the area. TB reckons I can’t actua;;y ride and it’s all in my imagination ;) .I reckon one of these days i will get out there with you mad bunch and have some OB fun.

Anyway we are happy to support the OB’s and am especially glad about the money raised.

    Cheers
