i cannot take the credit for the song, i simply cut and past the lyrics of the net and changed some.
i’m going to attempt “case of cans”, “the last ute out of Deni is almost gone”.
now just to get adam brand and or jimmy barnes to turn up for practice session before the muster.
i can resist no longer! Menace you gave us all a real good laugh!
here’s my version as i listened to the Straits after reading your well written toxic experience.

Quote:well XY, being a sparky, i should know….but i dont:Pummm, theres only 3 ways they could go i reckon.
the top kindergarden picture is in ‘parallel’, like the way you have it…i think.
the second is with the led first, then the resistor.
the third is with the resistor first.note that the led has a polarity but the resistor wont, so maybe they should be like the third one..
did you try putting the resistor to the pos side?i just called a very helpful parts supplier, sells led gear. looked it up for me, you wire it up the way Menace drew in the first diagram. and have 1 resistor for each side/ circuit.
other than that i assume that you would fit it down stream of your switch and could be grounded to the chassis. he read that if you earth it to the chassis it could create a poor ground and have problems.

Quote:It’s a bit like logging into a Ford forum and saying that the new VE commodore is technologically better. We all know it is, but you will never get the Ford fans to admit it and you will cop a load of shit for your efforts no matter how well PC you try and word such blasphemy.I would be surprised if any dedicated forum didn’t jump down your neck if you criticise the thing they are obviously fanatical about
please excuse my ignorance, what year is the VE, owning a commode would be like owning a VD:P
so, arrr, how many races have the FG started in and won this year?
=short stick, brown snake, prod, prod. :silly:
even worse is commenting in a ford forum with a bike section about a guy fitting a 245 car tyre to a triumph rocket would be a good solution to his needs.
talk about self-righteous know it all’s!
the lights have diodes in them, but the resistor worked either way, as i tested with jumper wire /clips, got hot either way. i even put both on together, one one way the other the opposite ‘polarity’, both heated the same amount. at the same rate.
upon thinking about it maybe i should fit it after the switch block. not after the flasher.
when i had the flasher out i tested with multi meter, power on one side, none the other. but i didn’t test if power at earth end of the resistor after fitting it.
one seller on fleabay states they do get hot and should not be fitted to plastic or in a small space that could lead to fire, melting stuff etc.
um no Menace,
i fitted, wired, soldered and heat shrinked the indicators before the rectifying cam arrived.
and as i found that with the jumper wires it worked only when i piggied it off the out side of the cam and earthed to the chassis.
and with the dash light in all 4 come on.
just looked at the site again and they reckon you put 1 on every corner as per your drawing 2.
i think.

oh and for as to how hot do they get, they are between ‘mmm thats warm’, and ‘what tha!? oh great another blister!’.
i’m not sure just how hot it gets, i only had it turned on long enough to test that all is working as it should, 1-2 min at most. so don’t know how hot it’d get on a ride.
this is the main reason, i wanted to find out if i’d done it right b4 i get it re-reg and start riding it around.
ok so the first pic is of the resistor and aaa batt.
